Too true. I stopped feeding GW my money and I have more miniatures from more diverse manufacturers. I like it like that.:)

Getting to that very same point myself, finn.
When you start buying away from GW you realise that there is a whole new world out there. Very few people go back.....

The sheer quality of stuff from peeps like Rackham, Warmachine, Dark Age etc. coupled with the fact that they still retain that essential \'passion\' for the hobby makes GW stuff seem very sterile indeed...

Marvel Comics too. They put out so much crap that people started going to Image and the competitors.

I seem to recall a very similiar thing happened at Wizards of the Coast...seems to be what tends to happen when a gaming company gets too large and start worrying more about the dollars and the board and what not. I guess success is not always a good thing.

I like to collect some old stuff and would love to get my hands on some of the SpaceHulk terminators (yes, I know they are hideous, that\'s their charm). Were they before or after this guy?

Originally posted by ipaintminissee we are backward...we started with confrontation, warmachine and reaper ect.
and now we are just finding GW, just starting to paint them since Paint Aid, its been quite recent. so we must be backward ;)
You\'re only truly backward if you progress from GW to Ral Partha or Grenadier - many of which are currently being remade so someone definitely is backward.

After. This was actually the very first terminator they released. Was shown around White Dwarf 90-100 or something, along with the first genestealer (which had a more monstrous head and was painted green).

This guy was release in 1989, the same year that Space Hulk came out. HOw many terminators do you need, Vincegamer? I can probably hook you up with some of you\'re not looking for oodles of them, pm me and let me know your needs (that\'s a setup for you, Markus!) :D

You can\'t fade Ral PArtha and Grenadier.
There were some amazing sculpts. Not to mention, these guys are some of the pioneers of what we are obssessed with.Thats Miniatures, not theDeepthroat thread.lol
GW could only wish for their integrity.

Yes they really paved the way for compainies like Reaper, Dragonblood, Spyglass, Freebooter...Ral Partha has some sculpts still that blow the socks off anything done today. I love their old AD&D monsters.

The one thing that GW has that Ral Partha/ Grenadier does not is loads and loads of cash.

You guys suck. lol

What is said in a thread should stay in a thread. No sense dragging that stuff all over the forums. ;)

And besides, I\'ve yet to meet an El Salvadoran with a decent sense of humor. Must have something to do with living in a war zone for years. Even though their \'civil\' war (isn\'t that an oxy-moron?) has been over for years, many of the guys I know (and are FRIENDS with) came here to get away from all the fighting and death. They tell me some truly tragic stories. Everybody deserves a better life; but it has turned them into a rather somber lot. :(

If I DID subcontract out my jokes I\'d probably use all the Irish living on the East End, I find everything they say funny (and unlike the English, I actually get most of their jokes). ;)lol

Yeah, I have to agree with you. When I think Grenadier, I think of the War Giant carrying the Patform with goblins. A friend of mine has another giant model, I think its Grenedier, that must weight 2 Kg. It truely makes me thing giant when I see it.
