Ah yes, Bionicle, thats the mecha I meant. They are ugly and straight from hell! Its the Lego for Nurgle kids! lol lol
Bionicle was an attempt to nudge Lego towards action figures and the whole story/comic led end of the toy market...
They have now got the \'Exo-Force\' stuff, which is Mecha through and through (and very cool with it, even if some of it is totally ripped off from Gundam)... worth getting some of it just to get minifigs with cool spikey manga hairstyles!
But yes, other than \'town\', they have kinda dropped the overall themes in favour of jumping on the license bandwagon with Star Wars, Harry Potter, Indiana Jones and all the rest... which is a real pitty.
The other complaint I have is that they\'ve dropped their prices so much.
Sounds silly, but they\'ve de-valued their product by doing so...
I remember when the really big sets were £60 - £70, even as much as £90 for the big train sets and monorail sets... I was in Toys R Us the other day and they had a complete airport with a great big jet airliner for about £50.
Given inflation over the last 20 years it should be well over double that.
Anyway... enough ranting... the bottom line is... Lego still rocks.
And who says you need to have kids to have an excuse to buy it!!! Just buy it for yourself and have fun!!
