It got lost in the skirmish.

As far as I know all subscribers will get their freebies delivered with the mag. The coupon thing that Rev pointed out is an alternative for non-subs to be able get one as well.
Now can I come out?

How about getting someone in sales to respond to my email - 15/7 before you put your head above the parapit.

You might even get another subscription out of it.;)

As a matter of fact, I am off to a meeting right now (boss is still on US time...)and will bring up the issue of unanswered mail.

The minis require you to send off and claim the free mini, so I think postage and package will come into - but that\'s all...

Okay now, THAT SUCKS! I was under the impression that the mag CAME DELIVERED WITH THE FREEBIE (call me dumb or whatever).
Now I have to send off for it? And most likely pay at least $5 shipping for each model? and probably customs processing fees too.:( Suddenly I\'m not so impressed with my $80 CAN subscription.

I am also disappointed with this. Especially considering the shipping and handling costs. If a new figure is availible with each issue, it\'s going to be annoying to have to send out for each one. Will it be possible to combine vouchers for multiple issues to cut on shipping/handling?

(edit) Oops! Missed the later post from Uncle Hex... Carry on, nothing to see here...

speaking of vested interests...

So what is Mickey Leach\'s role in all this? He seems to be pimping Harbinger at every opportunity.

You know, I\'ve been following this thread for a while now, and it seems that it has become a chance for people to somewhat anonomusly take shots at others in the industry.
Personally, the only interest I have in Harbinger coming out is hoping that it succedes so that we have another resource to look at other than the \"Official GW Bible\" that is WD - sure, I understand that GW has an interest in promoting its product, but so does Stone Circle/Griffen, and if they want to put out a mag to do so more power to them. If it succedes, great - if not then so what? Is it so damn important in the great scheme of life that the success or failure of a magazine calls for personally attacking someone? If so, then perhaps we all need to rethink our priorities here . It is a hobby folks, and while we all secretely dream of making money from it, 99% of us never will get beyond the post it or paint for friends phase, so I for one cannot see any reason for attacking anyone over it. Sure, the Reverend has a personal interest in what is going on - he\'s going to get his Garage back , and thats it. He and Uncle Hex may know a little more about what is happening because they know folks at Harbinger, but this does not make them stoolies or front men or evil confidence men out to make money off of the poor whitless folks out there who pony up the bucks for the magazine. All this makes them is people who are kind enough to pass on what info they have to other folks who are interested in the topic.

And isnt that what this site is all about?

End of rant, spiraling down to the hole in the ground where I lie

You have not had to deal with the biz on the inside...

There are some great stories, and I`m not telling any more of `em...uhh...hell no!

lol:innocent:

Some folks know why to...

:D:innocent:

Let`s just say that in this industry, there is a finite amount of $$$ to be made,go look at the post here, about folks wanting to be able to buy more hobby stuff.

:)

SOooooo....when a cool new product is on the horizon, some folks are hap-hap-happy...

and then other folks are ready to tear it up,and be jelious of the founders of such offerings.

:wow::mad::|~

So....THAT is why some coolies are Coooool about new junk, and some start to bad blab`n on it!

:]

You prolly knew all this stuff, but mabey you wanted to still think better of it all....me to.

But truth is not go`n away...at least not when we want it to.

I mean some folk hate my guts, and have never even met me,nor have they seen what I`m really about, lol, nor do they know just what I`m able to do...

I`m a nobody really for the moment, and already cuase`n a fuss with some folks.

It`s gonna be fun me thinks, when I do get my lil company rolling...

I think you should stay a happy customer, and don`t let this type of stuff get to you bud.

I wish this new mag the best, and I personally hope that it sells like sliced bread,we need some new blood around here, don`t you agree?

:):innocent::rolleyes:

Peace!

BME - you\'re right, I\'ve never been on the inside of the business like you have. All I have to work with is the 25 years I have been around gaming and its related hobbies - years spent as a gamer, painter, convention staff, convention goer, and finally as a member of this list, trying to pass on what I have learned to others who are interested in the hobby.

Sure, we all got experiences, some of them good, some of them bad, and these are going to color our views of the people we have delt with in the past and will deal with in the future. I dont have a problem with that, as it is part and parcel of human nature, and everyone has a good reason for the way that they feel about what is going on. I can even apprecieate someone wanting to articulate those feelings and concerns to others around them. But, I feel there are ways to do so, and ways to not do so, and the latter is what I find objectionable, and what I was trying to get at in my post. If you have personal issues with anyone there is a time and a place to air it, and hiding behind an anonomous ID is not the way to do it in my opinion.

Wow, two rants in one day - must be a new record for me lol

Anyway, this is far enough OT I think -

1 - Uncle Hex - thanks in anticipation

2 - BME - I\'ll be waiting with baited breath and drooling mouth (not a pretty picture) for your first offerings - if they are as good as the conversions you posted a while back

3 - Finn17 / AAvH-Darkblade - I was thinking of publishing a magazine - \"Routing for modelers\" -any one interested?

Just for the record Mickey Leach has nothing what-so-ever to do with Harbinger or it\'s affiliates and never has.

However, I have found Mick to be an intelligent, engaging member of the on-line gaming community and consider him both honest and trustworthy (I speak as I find...others on this forum would do well to take note).

If he appears to have been \'pimping\' the mag, it has been at my request and I thank him for it. I have asked others to spread the word also, with no other interest than promoting an endeavour which I know many are supporting and want to succeed, myself not least of all.

While we\'re about it, a word about myself.....I am nothing more than a figure sculptor. I am not the head of GRIFFIN, HARBINGER, SMURSH or SPECTRE....much as I\'d wish, though I am employed by Griffin as was Reverend and as are many others. I take it upon myself to give out whatever info I can on Harbinger because I want to and am allowed to (though I usually have to ask the editor first). I will not personally benefit from any profits (fiscal or otherwise) other than the same benefits we will all share in from gaining a new magazine about the hobby we love.

Subscribe, don\'t subscribe. I don\'t care. Buy it, don\'t buy it. I dont care.
Soon it will be out, you can make your minds up then and I let you all know in plenty of time, thats all I was trying to do.

Oh...one last thing (I feel like Columbo), didn\'t Devilsadvocate and the-other-one (if there was another) do a good job of heightening awareness about the mag! Griffin should thank them!lol

Dave,
thanks my friend it always amazes me to see how people like to talk about something they know nothing about or hearsay. As for prophets comments ive been doing this fulltime since about 1995 and have worked Freelance for alot of companies Im not worried about what a few might think of me..ones who hide behind a curtain and point fingers..or someone one tells a story and doesnt tell all of the story..2 sides to every coin.

Harbinger Magazine

Thought you all might be interested in this. Just got a reply from someone at Harbinger to my inquiry about the web site and release date on the mag. See below:

\"Apologies for the delay in responding, we\'ve been at Gencon pushing the magazine and recording coverage ad have only just got back into the office.

You\'re absolutely right about the website - the first issue was delayed due to some typesetting and printing issues, however this has been resolved and the magazine is now with the printers and will be shipping within the next week. The website will be updated within the next couple of days to explain the situation and prepare for the arrival of the first issue.

If you have ay other questions please don\'t hesitate to contact me .

Best regards

Mark\"

I can\'t wait to get it in my paint stained little hands....

Cheers All,

Grumb
