Well here goes...

Kersploosh!

Well Unc! I have taken the plunge but please inform Mr Blofeld or whoever that that webpage/posting glitch must be cutting subs by half. If it wasn\'t for the info that I have gleaned from this site I would have just walked away chuckling;)

Hasn\'t that been fixed yet?.....You\'re right (I just looked) and the shipping charge for UK & Europe still says £3.15 when it is really free! I don\'t know what the problem is, I thought it would be fixed by now, but I bet you are right about us loosing lots of subs :(.
Oddjob is passing the message on...

Thanks for your sub finn and thanks for your support here too :D. We really appreciate the input and effort that everyone has given, not just the $$$!

Just back from a holiday on Mars...

What\'s the score everyone? I\'m currently just settling in after moving to my folks place (hooray!?!) and I\'m asking (as a no-vested type) if anyone knows what the state of play is with the mag...

Uncle Hex, you out there? Philip needs you...

Rev...

I decided to stock the magazine on my website... I had a chat with the supplier who informs me that the estimated delivery time is the middle of next week.

By the way, what a long and turbulent forum this has become. I\'m away for a couple of weeks whilst the sodding computer is being fixed and all hell breaks out on CMON! What fun!!!

No vested interests honest guv!

Long time no hear...

I was beginning to wonder about you Rev, I thought maybe you took up missionary work away from minis and civilization. :D:D

Glad you are back.

:)

I don\'t know how much longer I can wait for my first Harbinger mag! I have tried holding my breath, but that just left me light headed and confused (not that there is anything wrong with that!)lollol

delivery date

Next week some time. Is that for U.K. only or overseas as well? If it\'s UK distribution, I guess those of us in the States subscribing should see ours what, two weeks after that? Three?

Just curious.

Yeeeeeeee haaaa!

Hey Supervike! I\'ve been making converts in the outer reaches of the galaxy...Catholicism aims to have 99% of the known galaxy converted and shackled by 2050, so my work has been pretty intense recently . Still, I\'m back now. James T Kirk came back in time and sorted me out an early lift to Earth. All pretty complicated stuff, but we\'re laughing about it all now back at the Vatican :).

Hey, Mr Halo! You good?

Beelzebrush, that\'s some pretty good news mate! I hope it proves a good one for you. I\'m making a point and not asking Mark what is happening. I\'m a prole in this one, and the no vested interest thing has brought me to prove this by waiting with everyone else. Further to this the whole link thing on my account here no longer has any kind of link with either stone circle or griffin or harbinger, so I\'m free of all association! Huzzah!

I\'m a prole once again and it feels great :).

That\'s that.

Marvellous.

Glad to be back :).

Goddam mickey mouse money!

:p:D

I guess if you\'re able to pay on plastic the exchange rate doesn\'t matter as those nice people at the bank sort that out automatically. Cheques are a whole different thing though ain\'t they!? If you\'ve got a British bank account then no problem, otherwise I don\'t know what to suggest as I\'ve not gone through the whole subscription thing!

Keep the Pound!

I also asked if they would accept paypal, but they said they don\'t currently and would look into it. Haven\'t yet though, and I don\'t want to give out my credit card internationally if I can help it, so I haven\'t subscribed yet. Something like that would probably be helpful though in more than one person\'s case...

I don\'t understand that logic...

You have given your credit card details to PayPal. They are operating internationally. You reckon they are more secure than your Bank?
They are warning people about a potential security risk on their site right now and it was headline news when a group in Russia set up a mirror site.

You might also want to consider looking at:

http://www.paypalwarning.com/

I like PayPal. I use it all the time. But I don\'t believe it is safer than VISA Mastercard, or AMEX.

I only use PayPal if payment through these mainline companies is unavailable. All the cards I use on the web are guarenteed against Internet fraud as long as you haven\'t been silly.

As for the Euro, what\'s wrong with Stirling?. If it ain\'t broke, don\'t fix it.
As Sturmhalo said, you could pay in seashells as long as there is an established exchange rate, all it takes is a bit of coding in the banks computer.

The reason I have a problem giving my credit card internationally is that if something happens and someone gets the number or whatever, its a hell of a lot harder to get compensation if its international. Paypal while being an international company, still charges my card in the US, so its easier to get my money back if there is a problem. It\'s not that I think one is safer than the other, its that its a lot less hassle to get my money back (or at least most of it) if there\'s some kind of problem one way than another.

Help with Euros

FrenchKid, I have accounts both in Euros and in Sterling (and in dollars too, if it is of any interest, I tend to move a lot with my job). So if you want, you can pay me Euros and I will pay them Sterling if that is better for you.
D\'ailleurs je ne sais pas pourquoi je t\'ecris en Anglais puisque nous sommes tous deux Francais...

Call me \'Mr Thicky\'....

But I still don\'t understand this credit card thing. If you use a credit card you aren\'t using your money, you are using theirs.

If someone pulls a scam, they scam the credit card company, not you.

There should be no question of trying to claim \'your\' money back.

The card company might want to claim from you if you had been careless and not taken adequate precautions, but as long as you use a secure server, print out the details of your transaction and avoid certain notorious areas of the world, it should be relatively risk free to the individual.

well said, Mr. Thicky.

The credit cards that I have are all \'protected against fraud\'.

Remember the credit card company pays the bill, then expects you to pay them in return.

I feel safe using my credit cards \'online\', much safer than using it to order something on the telephone.

Now, mind you, nothing has ever happened to make me change my mind. The media here is filled with horror stories of \'identity theft\' and such things.

It would be a cold day in hell that a credit card company would make me pay for something that was charged fraudulently. I\'d take the \'bad credit\' rap first.

The one thing to avoid would be sending large brown envelopes stuffed with cash. You can send those to me, if you\'d like, but it is rather risky.

I must be a thicky too!

I don\'t get your logic either KatieG. Why bother having a credit card at all? Bit like having a car and not using it on the road in case you have an accident!

:D
