Well, I\'ve joined this thread a bit late in the day, but it\'s been an interesting read nonetheless lol

I\'ve ordered a copy of Harbinger via game-mart (Beelzebrush lurks there :D ) and it shows the mag with the mini stuck on the front, so I am expecting it to arrive with my order.

I\'ve also just started using Paypal and I\'m nervous about what you guys are eluding to re their reliability. I guess I\'ll just have to wait and she what appears on my credit card statement ???

In the meantime, I\'ll be keeping my fingers crossed :rolleyes:

The problems with paypal are not strange charges on your credit card, but they tend to freeze accounts if they suspect there might be any kind of fraud involved. Even if you aren\'t the one committing fraud. Say someone sent you money using a stolen credit card. Your account could be frozen (including any money in there that came from other transactions), and there is little you can do about it. On the other side say you buy a laptop on eBay, send payment via Paypal, and no laptop shows up. Getting your money back in such a case is a real pain in the butt. The only way to be sure to get your money back is to contact your credit card company and do a chargeback. Paypal gets rather upset when you do that though, and they usually cancel your account. The other ways of going through the system are not entirely reliable as they give you the runaround and they have time limits as to how long you can appeal etc. This is through stories I have seen from websites such as paypalsucks.com and news sites and not personal experience though, so take it with a grain of salt. My experiences with paypal so far have been fine...

Just to guide this thread back to it\'s original subject....on the 8th Unclehex posted the mag would be shipped in a matter of days....that\'s three weeks ago. I have sent yet another email to Harbringer/Griffin, asking what the PRECISE release date is, no reply. I am going to wait two weeks for them to get back to me, and then I\'m going to get my bank to get the money back (it\'s a wonderful thing, internet purchase protection) I paid for my subscription...

I asked my distributor to give them a call yesterday and he informs me that it will be with him on Friday (tomorrow). However, he was also told it would be with him last wednesday too... so, all being well, everyone will have it by mondayish....

*holds breath*..... *lives in hope*.... etc...

Oh well, I\'ll hang on a little longer then. I do hope they manage to straight out these organizational problem soon, otherwise they\'ll never be able to compete on the market and that would be a great shame.

I am so surprised at the impatience of people - how can any of you hold your brushes steady with this amount of adrenaline coursing through your veins?

Any new enterprise is fraught with unforseen problems - chill out, have a little faith and patience..

The way I see it, unforseen things can happen, but this is demonstrating a lack of customer service, technical savvy (to lose the whole issue), and honest response.... Like I said before, I won\'t pay until I KNOW!!! Next thing you know, you won\'t be able to get your money back.
That being said, I seriously hope it does happen however, as the value to the miniature hobby is very great!

Got a quick response..

I sent an email this morning (at 7:08 PST) expressing my concern about the magazine, since the last communication I\'d had was from the 30th of July stating that the magazine was already being printed. I got a response from Mark a mere 10 minutes later (7:17, actually). Here is his response:

We must apologise again for the delay. The magazine did indeed go to print on that date but we have suffered a number of disasters that simply had to be remedied before we could ok the release. The magazine is expected to arrive here tomorrow and all subscriber copies will be sent out the same day along with the Harbinger of Justice mini.

I sent a message a while ago to the editor and never got a response, so this time I sent a message to the sales contact. It also might have made a difference that this time I said I was beginning to consider asking for a refund... :innocent:

Anyhow, back I go to twiddling my thumbs for a while longer.

hummm... well I was just going to wright a mail to them asking when they were planing on shiping the mag but you did that for me. :D well anyway they should also update their website. that can\'t take long can it ?

So the mag should be with us tomorrow!? Can\'t wait.

Maybe getting the first issue out wasn\'t a smooth operation, but the second issue should be going to print this week, or so I\'m told! Keep with it!

Apparently the next issue will be in WH Smiths! Though not those found in railway stations as that\'s a different concern all together.

I believe the mag begins shipping over the next few days, with all subs and advertisers issues being sent out by end of business on Tuesday (...or was it Wednesday...?), anyhoo we will all have it really soon.

Actually, I already got mine , but I cannot talk about the contents ...sorry, but its only a couple more days!

Btw, I looked into all that \'lost issue\' stuff and it turned out it never happened, the computers were down and they lost access to the files...not the files themselves.
And please lower thoes rifles... haven\'t you heard of \'don\'t shoot the messenger\'?
