same here.

I really don't understand the latest "free enterprise is bad" movement.

If you don't like McDonalds, don't eat there.
If you don't like the wage, don't work there.
If you don't like minimum wage, get some skills so you are not a minimum employee.

I like it too! And, I think the "message" is a valid one. It's not about a simple thing like "their food is junk" or "they pay lousy wages", but more a question about what a global corporation with presence almost everywhere and with massive marketing does to a society and its citizens, the environment etc. It could have been a different company, but I guess McDonalds is a convenient choice. Everyone knows their logotype, everyone knows Ronald and everyone knows what their business is.

That is well put. I wonder what the piece would look like with a fantasy burger brand? Or something else, I used to have night mares about Bigfoot growing up... :( It is certainly surreal. And that rippling bloody water is really well done.

Did anyone else wonder where the artist got all those AWESOME little crows?

Lol, after reading your post I took another look at the photos trying to find the "awesome cows" you mentioned. It was only after reading Bloodhowls response that I realised you actually wrote CROWS!!!

Looks like something you'd see at the Tate.
It is.
I find this "attack" on McDonalds and its 'fast food is bad so lets depict it as Hell', somewhat hypocritical at the artists(The Chapman brothers) are making huge amounts of money out of "Art collectors" like Saatchi for this style of 'work'. And its not like they did the whole thing themselves, 15 assistants worked on it as well, funny don't see their names listed.
To me its pandering to a cliche, the whole "Lets be controvercial in art" while milking the Rich gullible 'patrons' is what has given "Modern Art" such a bad (or tainted at least) press. Its a cynical and commercial milking of cash cows, because its not the first time they've used this Hell motif to extract money.

I can not recall who is reputed to have said "Art is Passion", but in this instance I see no passion, no struggle for expression, but what seems a deliberate attempt to play an elitist view market place. Maybe the Chapman brothers need to look around for an Emperor to whom they can sell new clothes.

Guess I came off the fence, eh?

I'm with DR on this one. I'm not at all keen this kind of "art" in terms of an expensive and controversial message. Having said that, as a creepy diorama piece I think it's great. Don't get me started on Damien Hirst...
