Hello!

Hi Napster2...
I checked out the mini. Did you highlight the black? If you did, you need to take it further. Shadow grey, through codex grey perhaps even finishing with Space Wolf grey. You could do with washing the gold with brown/chestnut ink too. HTH:)

A quick and easy way to do black is to a heavy drybrush of a really dark grey over the top. When I say really dark I mean really dark, like practically black but not quite, It just helps give a sense of some sort of highlight and depth the mini. It ain\'t gonna win you golden demons but for an army, its the fast and easy choice.

And if you whant some fancy black, you can experiment with different colors to highlight it. Really dark blues and red work nice. Or brown works nicely on animals. No dosn\'t mean the color is going to be blue or wathever, just ude really drak tone of the choosed color and highlight the black slightly.

Try mixing black with Shadow Grey to get the highlights also make the paint realy thin and this will help give a more natural progression to the highlights.
Black isn\'t easy as the highlights can seem to jump out at you.
I agree with Spacemunkie on the gold it needs shading down.HTH :D

Okay, here\'s the thing BoyzN\'Girlz (sounds like a Teen Idol band.. oh, well..) : Black Paint is usually just a really dark blue to fool our eyes, which is why it makes an olive color when mixed with yellow. Also, since you cannot go darker than black, it should be your shadow colro. Thus, you should be using a VERY dark grey for the actual \"Black\" color, and a bit lighter grey for highlights.. Key here is to define the shapes without going into the lighter value range. I did this on the black parts of my Tau Battlesuit and as you can see, people just accept it as black, even if it is just a bit lighter..

Hope this Helps! :p

(PS: my comment on the gold would be basically everything previously stated :D )
