so i\'ve been on this lose weight thing since new years. (13 Kgs gone)

and i\'m boring! no funny quips, re\'parte or smiles. in fact sometimes i\'m getting quite hostile.

i think it has something to do with not drinking 2-3 litres of coke a day.
no energy to burn and no caffine buzz to keep my brain turning has changed me for the worse. ( i do look trimmer though)

anyone have any suggestion on how to bring the old me back? or should i let him die and make a new glomy version?

You could try the exercise buzz (it works for some people), or go to diet coke :|~ to get your caffeine buzz back! Pro plus, drugs (not that i would sugest anything illegal of course), or maybe just sniff your paints and lick your brushes :D

You could get all twisted and cynical writng scathing but witty comments that people secretly find very funny but wont say they laugh at them as they are really harsh and cruel but they still cant help laughing and so they laugh but feel bad at the same time.
You could be the oscar wilde of the forums or some other witty perosn whosneam i cant remember.

Congradulations - you are adding years to your life. What are you using besides eliminating coke (1000\'s of empty calories there).

Caffene addition withdrawls can cause moodines as well as headaches. Tried diet coke?

If you are eliminating certain foods, a multi-vitamine might be good.

Prayer always works.

face it ........

1.Exercise
2.Coffee
3.6 Small meals a day(instead of 2 or 3 big ones.
4.Buy a book -\"Body for Life\" by Bill Phillips -it will change your life.

I had a severe spinal injury when I was in the Marines. I wasn\'t able to walk for two years. By 2000 I ballooned to 300 lbs.
I made a commitment to change and by 2001 I was 200 lbs. I\'ve maintained 190-195lbs since.

for me the diet thing doesn\'t work, at least not alone.

About a year ago I had to stop running-n-stuff because I developed bone spurs (plantar fascitits -sp?) very painful. went fro 178lbs to 230lbs ib that year, and have become very twitchy and bitchy (make an effort not to be)

For me, When I exercise, my body craves heathier things, and I have way more energy, and defense against my natural mood shifts is better.

I read somewhere that any drink that contains caffiene does not hydrate the body very well, if you just stick to water and fruit juices (100%), and have the occaisonal sports drink when you exercise, you\'ll have better energy than caffiene could ever give you!

Last *whew* make sure you get enough sleep! When you don\'t, the body goes into stress-response, which can cause many problems, one of which is constant fatigue. I\'m done now!:)

P.S. Doc says I can start a walking routine today! yippee:bouncy:

now I\'m done, really!:D

Good, walk to the crafts store and finish my book thongs.
(Just kidding - don\'t shoot. :D)
Glad to hear that you are up and about again. I can relate to the shin splints. Used to run 3-5 miles per night in colege, but had to quit for the same reason - go for a run, then not be able to walk to class.

If you want to go down the route of being all bitter, cynical, and argumentative just for the sake of it, try your hand on the Miniatures Page and Frothers forums.

OUCH!

I have Plantar Fascitiis (sp?) in both my feet. I never developed the miserable sounding bone spurs, but I have had surgery on both.

The cut the (arch)tendon basically in half when they do the surgery. Supposedly, it relieves the pressure.

I stayed awake during the surgeries. It sounded like they were cutting through a huge stalk of celery.....

I have to say, it has helped tremendously. I do the \"stairs\" at a local arena, and it hurts, but not like it used to.

I had cortizone shots:eek::eek::eek::eek: ow. they were not completely effective, only about 85% pain relief, but it\'s enough, coupled with proper stretching, I can walk again :D

I never could quite figure out those damn shots.

The doctor finds the most painful spot of my foot (right underneath the heel) and then proceeds to stab it with the needle, but thats not good enough, he has to wiggle it around \"to make sure the medicine gets around\"...I am pretty sure the guy belong to the Marques Des Sade fan club.....him and my dentist!!!:flame:

Couple of suggestions on the caffine buzz thing - I too am an addict of ye olde caffine, but have found that if I limit myself to 1 20oz coke and then switch to tea (one regular caffinated tea bag and two herbal teabags(mint is best for me)), I avoid the nasty headaches and keep my stunning repartee. Just an idea.

thanks for the advice guys!

and the warnings :D being still 138Kgs means i\'m not running anywhere! it just plain hurts. maybe some weights and stuff though.....

i drink plenty of water and have balanced diet (just not as many kilojoules as i used to)
how much sleep should a weight loseing bloke get?

i don\'t want to be bitter and narky (much :D) it just makes other peoples lives more miserable than they already where.

thanks again! i shall get thinnish yet!

And here I am trying not to be a skinny little dude...well...not trying very hard. Exercise is just too much work, and eating so much to bulk up is just annoying. Guess I\'ll be a pencil-neck forever. Not that I am complaining, mind you...:flip::bouncy:

I think we all had this conversation before! I asked for about of stone of muscle from this lot (never got it though).

And as for sleep, 6-8 hours should be plenty!
