Just a reminder to my fellow Americans out there, get your butt out there and vote today! Even if you didn\'t register, most states allow you to do so at the door on the day of the polls if you bring ID and proof of address. I\'m going after work, and at least this gives you the right to complain about politicians for two years while subsequently using the line \"I didn\'t vote for him\". So go and enjoy one of your constitutional rights! I don\'t care how you vote just do it or I\'ll put a curse on your paint pots that they will all dry up overnight! :moon::Dlol

But anyway, how many of you in all the countries actually go out and vote at election time? I\'ve been trying to impress on my 4 year old that it\'s a wonderful thing to do and I bring her to the elections with us, including in 2004.

I do every time there\'s election, whether it\'s local, state or national. IMO, every American who\'s old enough to vote should do it.

As I work in local government it\'s even more important for me to vote when I get the chance as these people end up as my bosses so I\'d like to think I have a say.

Even before I worked for the council I always exercised my democratic right. It\'s disappointing how many people don\'t bother to use their free vote on important things like who runs your life etc but will pay a fortune in phone calls and texts to vote on reality TV shows and talent shows etc

Tonight for me is like the superbowl for other americans, I\'m gonna be screaming and cheering at the tv as the numbers come in. In between teaching someone how to play warmachine. :D

Battle report:

Joe Lieberman kill by a mortar round after a critical knockdown by Iron Fang Pikemen.
Grand Exemplar Kreoss now governor of Michigan.
38 states ban research on stem Cortex\'s.

Yeah, it should be fun!

I always vote! One of the biggest problem with representative democracy is that people lose interest in voting. That way the government will no longer be representative for the entire population.

Yeah, it\'s not like someone can rig an election. Well, not in this country.

While I do most of my voting at Electric Ocean and Wyrd contests, it is important to note that the results would look something like 342,542 to 297,827 instead of 342,541 to 297, 827. Still, if 44,714 people felt the same way, it could make a difference.

That would be a nice battle report, I\'m from Connecticut and am not a fan of Joe

I think Severius would make a great Governator:

\"we the people, in order to more fully purify the unbelieving masses in fire, do hereby declare these truths self evident,That all men burn equal, in terms of flame color\"

did you hear about the \"robocalls\"? the autodialer calling people at midnight and calling back eight times with the same message.... \"We\'re calling with some important information about (Insert democrat name here),\" pause pause pause, and then talks smack about them. the goal is that people get the phone at midnight, hear it\'s an automated message, and hang up before they realize it\'s not the democrats calling them....and 8 calls at midnight would drive me nuts...

lol good point!

I always vote too, national and local. I\'m already looking forward to the next General Election to see if I can help to rid us of the current set of ne\'er-do-wells! (but that\'s a completely different subject entirely lol)

Yep, read about that! Is that sort of thing even legal? ???

nope. Automated calls are not supposed to call back if you hang up, nor are they supposed to call between the hours of I believe 9pm to 8 am. There had been cases a few years ago that because an autodialer wouldn\'t let a person hang up, they couldn\'t call 911 and almost died...

Maybe in MI, Hako, but here on LI, NY it\'s the Rep\'s who always voted from the grave. Also from the nursing homes; my sister was head nurse of such a facility back in the late 70\'s. A group of people who were presumably from the Board of Elections would show up with right-in ballots so the elderly could vote at their convenience. Problem was, all they asked the voters to do was sign the form, they had already filled them out straight Republican.

Lets see, that was 400 votes from her place, multiplied by over a thousand nursing homes in the county... and they had been doing it for years!!!!

Also, they have been caught numerous times tampering with voting machines, and not just on LI. Think about it, it\'s a no-lose stuation. They only doing it in districts they are losing in; if they\'re caught ALL the votes are thrown out because they are compromised, and if they aren\'t caught then they just go on and win.

By eliminating the votes in the districts that are against them they take the election that way too. Even if they are caught in the act, the judges just give them a slap on the wrist and a hefty fine, which their party pays for them.

My family was heavily involved in politics back in 70\'s, my uncle even ran for Congress... but thats another story. Suffice it to say that I vote in every election since I\'m 18, but I also know for a fact my vote doesn\'t mean crap.

I was alluding to the 1960 Kennedy v. Nixon election... the most infamous case, true or not.

Shenanigans are bi-partisan.

I\'m always torn on election day.

On one hand, I know I should vote.

On the other hand, I hear George Carlin in my head saying, \'I, who did not vote, have every right to complain about the mess the rest of you made. And the only difference between what you do on election day and what I\'ll be doing is that when I\'m done \'pulling the lever\' I\'ll have something to show for it.\'

Gotta love Carlin. lol
