Roll on the MOVIES !!!:flip: !!!! :bouncy:

GOD bless ...............VINCENTI

He better bloody well not turn into a wolf - not because I\'m bothered with them messing with the original (although in truth I am) but I\'ve an irrational fear / morbid fascination of werewolves...

But hear hear - Two movies is great. Don\'t leave anything out Del Toro, \'Smaug, Esgaroth, Battle of Five Armies, The Misty Mountains\'... Now look what you\'ve done Vincenti... got me all excited.
I can\'t wait \'til 2010...

My main concern is dialogue. That was my one big complaint about the LOTR trilogy: I felt they oversimplified the dialogue, to the point (or at least close to it) of plain old dumbing-down. I hope they don\'t do it to the same degree here.

Incidentally, does anyone else think that they used the phrase \"one last time\" WAAAAY to much in the Trilogy?

I think if they include all the various story lines from the book, they would have enough material for 2 films, especially if they do prolonged battle scenes like they did in the LotR films.

If they did flesh out some of the implied storylines between The Hobbit and the LotR, these are the ones I would want to see:

Gollum\'s quest for Bilbo and capture by the Ringwraiths

Balin\'s doomed attempt to reestablish Dwarven control over Moria

Sauron\'s departure from Mirkwood and rise to power in Mordor (at least I think that is what happened - it has been awhile)

Saruman\'s discovery of the palantir and subsequent corruption

Anyway, I can\'t wait to see how they do the talking spiders of Mirkwood. Talk about creepy!

In the Empire magazine I\'ve got, one of the stories they talked about fleshing out is the hunt for and capture of Gollum by Gandalf and Aragorn and his interrogation.
