I just finished sternguard vetran sgt and went to spray it with varnish. The can felt bit heavy, turns out it was black spray. Im stopping for the night right now!:wow:

You know you need to stop painting when:
- Your hand is so badly cramped that you can\'t actually let go of the paint brush.
- You glue/paint your left eye shut.
- You drink more than 17 ml. of paint in one gulp.
- At the end of a marathon session, you find yourself trying to paint a better sunset... on the sky.
- You can\'t swat all the butterflies off after spray varnishing in an enclosed room.

Still climbing back on that particular horse. Got a fig based up yesterday. Need to finish the last 10% and I\'ve officially completed a piece for the first time in 6yrs!

cant think of any painting mishaps off the top of my head apart from the usual spillages and ocassionally forgetting to put the lids back on the pots (doubly annoying since ya cant even use the pot anymore)
I have however put tank tracks or wheels on the wrong way round (ring any bells for you armour modellers?)
..and once built a Panther Ausf. A tank but used the exhaust of the Ausf. D

I\'m probably about to curse myself but I\'ve never even come close to this as I keep the Varnish in the house and the Primer in the garage.

I\'m lucky that my dullcote is a small can, where my primer is not. But I have mixed black and white before.

I swear... dropping minis is the bane of my painting existence! It generally happens when I\'m repositioning the piece to do something.
The worst case of this was when I was finishing up a piece- I was literally a couple strokes from varnishing it- when I dropped it onto my pallette:flame:
I wiped away most of the paint with a damp paper towel... but it added another night\'s work to the mini.

Depends on the mini, really.
The Tyrant of Vile-Tis I just put up on the WIP section: I hold it by its base, unless I need to move it into a strange position to reach something. Generally I have the base kind of cupped in my hand, with my fingers wrapped around it.
For small minis, I generally hold th emini itself- especially Reaper minis, with their non-existant bases.
