I\'ve posted a couple new minis, both plastic from the new Battle for Skull Pass box:
Slayer
Thane
I was hoping these would both come out in the 6 range and they indeed are. But I was wondering what makes them better (even though only marginally) than:
Dwarf Lord
Personally I would have considered the Dwarf Lord to be better work (and I certainlly put a lot more time into it) but I\'ve also seem them all in person.
Is my photography better, or more accuratly the smaller photos show things better?
I had received a number of comments in the past on the thickness of my paints and I\'ve been working towards thinning them out. I believe the two plastic minis don\'t show as much paint build up. Would that explain the higher ratings? I attribute the thinner look to the paint from better spray techniques and my new VGC paints (which both plastics were painted with) as my old GW paints were a bit thick and the Partha Paints are typically quite chaulky (both used on the Lord).
Am I missing something else? I\'d like to keep doing the things I\'m doing better and improving them further but I\'m not quite sure what I may have done better here.
Comments, suggestions, and to a lesser degree ratings are all very much appreciated.
PS: Trying desperatly to bump the terrain. Bugs me a bit that my top 5 rated \'minis\' are all terrain pieces. :drunk:
