A question occurs. To the people who\'ve broken the ceiling of Alchemist\'s top band, what do you reckon your proportion of painted to unpainted is like?
Oh you witch!
I would not dare presume upon Ms. Pony\'s territory!:twisted:lol

Damn thats a difficult queston to ask, you know damn well most of us have a mountain of unpainted figures so that we live longer compared to the couple of display cabinets of painted stuff. :(

I refuse to answer the follow-up question on the grounds that the number is just too large. Plus I keep stripping things and starting over, so it fluctuates a lot.

Hell, I\'ve been working on one mini for over 9 months with no progress to show for it (unless you count a bathroom sink clogged with paint stripped off of it so many times).

Oh I\'m easily off the top end of the scale although the vast majority of the stuff I have was bought during my time working for big bad GW, I dread to think what it would all have cost at RRP. My Praetorian army alone cost me something in the region of £40-£50 if I got it now it would set me back well over £500!

I\'m still working through assembling it all let alone painting it even though I left three years ago.

I\'m off the chiz-arts!

22 years doing this from semi serious to spending everything I can! I won\'t factor the buying a house with a sperate building to store and play my games even. In the time I was in the hospital from last week to a couple of days a go I still managed to spend about 600$ in used/new stuff without access to a phone, computer, or wallet! That\'s impressive, innit!

As for insurance, do it! Here it was easy for me. If you define something as a collectable, you don\'t have to provide much for paperwork or anything. Just some pics of your stuff (keep them updated) with an apporximate value.

What a great poll.

Between some commission pieces, a few competition winners off ebay, 9 years in the hobby, and a recent push to snap up all the Rackham metal I could find . . . I\'m guessing $10,000 plus. Easy. Which is really ridiculous when you think about it. Especially compared to the percentage of this amount that\'s gone toward mini\'s I\'ve actually painted . . .

Can we please have two poll charts?

One for our serious vote and another for our spouses or significant others incase the sneek a peek over our shoulders when voting or viewing results?:duh:

I can\'t be the only person who brings home a couple of hundred dollars worth of goodies only to tell my inquiring husband it only cost me 50 bucks .... or that the brand spanking new mini I am putting together has been sitting in storage for months and he just hasn\'t seen it.

Although I think he has an inkling that my scrapbook supplies that would be way off the chart here is worth more than the thousand dollars I have told him.

I went \'serious collector.\'

I\'ve got at least $700 worth of paint alone.

I\'m sure I\'ll be up near the top one day, but I\'ve only been at this for about two or three years now and I have children to feed. :~(

I am almost always the one that collects the post.
I have taken to abusing the \"48 hour\" rule.
I hide the new arrivals until I am ready to work on them.

It\'s a great poll untill you realise that he\'s just using it to case us all in preparation for some carefully executed burglaries lol
