Monk

Got my D&D monk posted... didn\'t really know what to do with the base as D&D characters get to go all over the place and don\'t have any set homeland or anything like that. i ended up just doing the old green tea trick and posted him sometime last week. Anywho, i haven\'t gotten any feedback on him and just wanted to ask for some.

PS. Does the picture seem dark? It seems dark on my computer, but looked perfect on my dad\'s computer (the one i put it together on). My comp\'s set up for gaming, so all the colors are dulled down for a darker feel. Just wondering... i know flat screens get the same problem. Should i use lighter pics in the future? Thanks

It\'s weekend, mods get a vacation from accepting minis and reviewing all the comments.

But the mini is good, you might want to not drybrush the metals but apply a thinned layer. And to stubble, use a darker grey and mix into the final flesh highlight and paint it on.
And by the way.. those new minis from Cell\'s 1999 are now OOP :~(

Yeah, my hobby shop\'s not going to carry them anymore, that\'s why i\'ve been snatching them up lately.
Thanks for the tip on the stubble. The way i painted the metal was a suggestion from a friend (real life, not online) and he described it as sort of anti-drybrushing because you take off the tacky top layer, but leave the metal in the receases creating a more aged/dirty look to the metal. i used metalic enamles on the monk, so the only way to thin it down would be paint thinner... i kind of don\'t like doing that because it can bleed out into the other acrylic colors and really make a mess.

The highlighting on his chest looks a bit unnatural, different from the rest of the skin. His face and cloth is good.
