And maybe all those who say to not take it so seriously should sit down, shut up, and let people with a passion to fix things, try to work out a way to do it. This site can be a better, and more fun place with a little effort.
Ummmm.... A bit harsh there, aren\'t you, Eric??? I hope you don\'t REALLY expect me to \"sit down and shut up\"

That ain\'t likely to happen. Or does your plan for a \"Brave New CMON\" also include the idea that only those who agree with you should be able to post in the Forums?
I realize those words were a little harsh, but it is rhetoric more than a command (and definately not directed at you or scott, who I quoted). I have watched for years now every time someone complains on this topic to basically get the: \"yeah it sucks, but it\'s not changing, so shut up and sit down, just stop caring so much and it\'s better\" line.
It\'s become the culture here, and I know a lot of people don\'t even speak up anymore because there is a group here that will just tell them this same thing again, and again, and again, and a lot more that don\'t post here anymore because of the issue...but for how long? Until cmon is seeing none of the top work anymore? Already so much of the best isn\'t coming here; maybe 1 in 5 demon winners, and even less from other competitions.
My Question is why let this continue and watch this place deteriorate further? That answer has always been the easy one, and at one point it may have been the right one as well, but I firmly believe it is not anymore. So my argument is stop settling for this same answer and those who preach it, do need to take a step back. This place can get better, but as long as the forum culture keeps everyone quiet on the subject, that may never happen. So I\'m saying those telling others to stop caring about the site, stop complaining about the problems, to essentually shut up and sit down...that maybe it\'s their turn on this subject.
Bottom line: There are those that avoid problems, and those that confront them...and there are times to avoid problems and times to confront them. I think times are changing.
That essentually is the translation of my thoughts when I first typed \"shut up and sit down\'
