all right then, i am not one of those who care too much about the ratings here in cmon, but descending from 9.3 to 8,9 in so many few votes with my dark elf is way too much, im fed up with snipers, i think i will never post again in this site. THere must be someone who REALLY hates me or something

If you leave they win.. and the rest of us that admire and learn from your example lose..please reconsider.

The rankings and scores have gone to hell as far as Im concerned. Its still nice to get a good score but its not worth loosing sleep over.

Dont judge things on the actions of a few arseholes.

I think one of the reason voting is like it is nowadays is that many snipers have figured out how the system works and snipe more \'subtly\'. But it\'s still enough to make a difference. If you look at minis who rate at between 8.9 and 9.1 you can see quite large discrepancy in quality. Much more than the measly 0.2 suggests... A lot of minis get pushed down to around 9 where they disappear off the T10L7 and get left alone...

The only thing you can do is to say \'f-ck it!\' and who cares, really? Everyone knows that, for instance your Elf, Albert, is good stuff!

Unfortunately, I\'m not so sure of that now. It be nice to be able to see a graph on how votes are distributed for a mini. If they vote massively X* points under the mean score, the anti-sniper software tends to still not notice them.

I\'m quite surprised Albert with all the trophies and general praise you get on your art that you still let yourself be affected by the snipers\' attitude. Cheer up and show them right with your next mini .

* : people who have been sniped intelligently will know what the value is.

ok guys i will keep posting my minis, i repeat i don\'t mind too much about the marks (knowing some people that paint only and for this purpose). It\'s just about justice, but i won\'t get my mind affected by such jerks, i am here not to get high numbers but to show how can i get to paint and receive ideas and criticisms from you guys, this is what this site is worth of! just wait my next mini, no one will have guts to snip it!

I agree with this totally. Once upon a time snipers gave 1s, 2s and 3s, these votes would be removed eventually but now they\'re giving 5s and 6s, these don\'t get removed. I think it\'s about time Chern overhauled the system, only registed users should be
allowed to vote and all votes should be logged and the log should be viewable by all.

As for your work Albert, a few months ago it would have been sitting happily on 9.7 or 9.6. That\'s certainly what it deserves but I don\'t think it\'ll even get close the way things are at the moment.

I have an idea.
If someone wants to get votes or comments about miniatures, they should send a private messgae to the serious people first. Like myself. That way you can get a good solid score before they can snipe you down. It can be hard, but make a list of people who you know will be fair to you. I was thinking this might help because you are ranked when you hit 50 votes. Wouldn\'t make it harder for snipers to knock you down?

I agree with all that has been said. It is work like yours which inspired me to pick up a paint brush again after 10 years!

It really is a shame but some people are sad arses. I am sure all the solutions have been debated before but my ideas would be having two scores sepearting members from non members and giving memners a maximum of 1 vote. this would mean the non members could still participate in the site which I think is cool but the members score would be more correct.

If it\'s get people to log in before they vote, it\'ll turn into a popularity contest IMHO. We\'ve all seen comments like : \"I wish I could rate this an 11.\" :|~ How would the painter be expected to progress with comments like that ?

If it\'s weed out the 5, 6, and 7s when the mini is in the 8-9 area, then it wouldn\'t be fair because people would get all their friends to vote high as soon as possible.

If it\'s show a distribution graph so we can figure out if the mini is being sniped or not, then I think it would make the best of both worlds, that way you could report the pic and an admin/moderator could see what to do about the snipe scores (but then again, they\'re already busy enough as is ).

All I wanted to say, is that a solution, if there is one, isn\'t that simple. Let\'s just hope the little pricks will grow up soon enough .

Why would it turn into a popularity contest? If you had to leave a comment in order to vote then it might but I don\'t think it would otherwise. The majority of people aren\'t that pathetic that they\'d only give 9s and 10s hoping that they\'d receive likewise in return.

And if someone can\'t be bothered registering or logging in then I don\'t see any problem with not allowing them to vote. They can view the images but let them only click \'next\' rather than vote.
