anyways, those advices given are indeed sound...sometimes, a certain mini isn\'t a good start, sometimes a style (eg. GW) isn\'t your style...
anyways, learn, experiment and try again and again...practice makes perfect here...it\'s an evolving art, not a mathematical formula...
my own experience in painting includes:
(1) Stripping a mini and painting it over and over again more than 20 times? That was a mini of arwen mounted on a horse...believe it or not, it was the face only....then the horse (and stripped everything)...then stupid frodo (he looks like a frog)....
(2) didn\'t know how to do blacklining and had to practice on a whole regiment of goblins again and again....
(3) painted gem on paper first....
(4) copied shamelessly from others...take a mini from a article/tutorial, buy that mini, and follow that article/tutorial step-by-step guide...
read and see...try and practice...that\'s the key...
