I don\'t know if it\'s art, but I like it!

*warning...this could be \'offensive\' to overly patrotic and religious types....

The original painting, filled with symbolic meaning, and overblown hyperbole...

The redo:

A Cthulhu-esque Zalgonification of the pomposity!

I dig it!

An accurate description.
After reading some of those sideline comments I really think he is Sooo Far Up Himself.

Not too struck on the Cthuthlu one but get humour. (Sorry just, not a big fan of old tentacle face).

Nice find there Jim!

Funny as hell.

I don\'t think I\'d want to spend too much time with the dude who did the first one. But I could defo kill a case a beer with the dude who did the second one.

My god, Jesus looks soooo American!

His work is no better than the tat the JW\'s put in their pamphlets. Fine art, my arse!

Fair play, nice pastiche by that other feller :D

I immediately thought of JW and Awake! when I saw that painting. It is almost exactly the same style of painting as you can find in their publications and pamphlets.

Hmmm..........

Roger and I looked at both paintings and the first one caused quite a discussion (insert the word \"rant\"). The second one made me chuckle.

Gonna go on record and call the author of the second painting a nasty heretic.

I mean, the Elder Sign is *obviously* a star with a flame inside it, not that branch-looking thing the kid is drawing! Kill the blasphemer! Iä! Iä! :drunk:

That\'s alright, he\'ll get his \"reward\" when Great Cthulhu catches up with him! lol

I think the first one is incredibly well painted. Looking at the artist\'s website and all of his other paintings (particularly the landscapes) I am very impressed. That impressionistic style really appeals to me.

As far as the politics are concerned, I personally don\'t like mixing politics and art regardless of the political party (and I know many people believe art and politics go hand in hand. I don\'t, though. We will have to disagree:) ) I like art for art\'s sake. Color theory, composition, rendering, technique, etc... That\'s my preference.

Although I do agree with about 80% of his beliefs, that\'s a different story. I do think it\'s funny how much grief he is getting from the media, where art of the left-wing nature tends to get praised. That\'s just my observation...

As to the second \"artwork\"... might be seen as a little offensive and degrading (though I\'m sure the first painting could be seen the same way to others).
