Nice.

Great to see we\'ve got some more blues fans here!

Hi DaN, that jazz program is so funny!

Hey Matty, just had a look at the Jools Holland link you posted. Really nice stuff. I was thinking that if you\'re not too familiar with (you probably are) some of the great New Orleans boogie woogie d00ds that you must check this out!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wvlq4pD7lE&feature=related

Please let me know what ya think of James Booker.

Boogie Woogie

Hi Matty, good to hear that you liked James Booker. My younger brother is the man when it comes to Boogie Woogie piano players. Some of the greats are, Dr. John, Professor Longhair, Tuts Washington, Fats Domino and Jelly Roll Morton. There\'s a whole world of great music to be explored right there. Enjoy!

Hey Ian, I\'d forgotten that you were in China. And was wondering when you were going to find this thread. Cool stuff! I bet you\'re glad to be home to your Strat!

Also - that Skip James link is awesome! He seriously owns! You can hear where Canned Heats singer was inspired.

How can people not like the blues?
In theory its one of the biggest foundations of music that most people love today, If you look at the different aspects of the Rock Genre everything in there is blue\'s. Even some of the greatest guitarists ever to walk this earth where originally blues players. People like Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck.

I love the blue my self and its the thing that inspired me to take the guitar up. I just remember sitting in BB kings club / restruant in NY city and hearing Stevie Ray Vaughn for the first time and instantly loving some of those Blue\'s riffs, my dad told me the story of how he had died and after that I went out and instantly bought \"Texas Flood\".
I\'ve been playing now for 6 years and owe it all to that one man.
Gotta love some blues.
