Also, another famous sailor is called Popeye.

How about that guy that Captianed the Titanic. He was a sailor. At least until they hit that iceberg, then he was more of a floater.

Speaking of the Love Boat....Old Fred Grandy, who was \"GOPHER\" on the show became a successful state representitive here in Iowa for some time.

BTW...what did Bluto and Popeye ever see in Olive Oyl anyhow? I mean she wasn\'t much to look at...why these guys fighting over her?

Maybe I am forgetting something, but I don\'t remember any other woman on Popey (who is a sailer as well BTW).

The thing I always found odd was that Olive had a baby, SweePee or whatever... who was the dad, maybe that is what they were fighting over.
