We have a .99 cent theater near me....but you do have to wait a few weeks, as they don\'t get first runs....

BUT...we went to another theater yesterday to see it (still 3 of us for 9 bucks!!)

While the special effects were cool, I really really think you need to have been a transformers fan to appreciate it. It was fun in a cheesy way, the same way I thought \'Independence Day\' was fun...but cringingly stupid at times too.

Actually I could have lived without the \'transforming\' part....It would have been cooler if they were just big robots!

I was intrigued, though by the \'trailer\' of a unnamed movie....Some sort of giant monster attacks New York?...the trailer was nothing but \'home video\' pretty cool looking.

I\'ve had two people tell it was phenomenal, but given who told me I\'ll probably pass. I rarely see a movie at the popcorn stadium anymore.

Regarding cheap, or \"second run\", theaters... they get the same print that the first run theaters use, no matter what the state. When my wife was working at a theater, their copy of Frankenstein got ripped up in the projector and they had to trash half an hour of the film. Even in damaged form they still had to continue to show it, and when its run was over it got sent to a dollar theater in the same state. Wah.

The question that I have is this, In the discont theaters how long of a wait between the advertised start of the movie and the actual start? When to see Transformers last night ($4.50 between 4-6pm) and there was 20 minutes of TV COMMERCIALS before the 5 minute infomercial on the DLP setup in the movie house, then the previews of upcoming movies (the one with the rock sounds like it may be pretty good). So a 2 and half hour movie is now 3 hours because of something that I can see at home :cussing: Now I understand why this commercials are there, the movie house is just trying to make a profit (they make something like 2-5% of the ticket price the first couple of three weeks) but come on! Give us something that we don\'t see every day on the idiot box! Please Come up with something that we can see only in the theaters! Make us want the see!

Sorry about the rant folks, but that is something that have had on my shoulders for sometime, and it had to come out.

Could be interesting for sure; he has a really good eye for otherworld-ly sfx. While I wasn\'t quite as enamored with Pan\'s Labyrinth as a lot of folks are, the creatures and environments were certainly impressive.

After seeing Spiderman 3 (what a load of pro-US rubbish!) I\'m going to have to sit this movie out (as in make a point of not seeing it) and perhaps waste a few dollars on the DVD when it comes out just so I can complain about what tripe it was to my friends.

The best movie I\'ve seen in the last decade would definitely be \'Pan\'s Labyrinth\' - brilliant movie! Also, Rocky Balboa was a good movie with a really emotional story behind it.

I saw a pre-show on Monday... I didn\'t expect anything, since I never watched the trailers, since I never do that with movies I actually want to see. (it ruins em nowadays so I watch em after)

Ugh, I thought it was below average. It could have been SO much better, but as usual, Michael Bay craps out a huge turdfest. The first part of the movie I actually liked, then it gradually got worse and worse... (I wont give anything away so Ill save the complaints hehe) but the action was choppy and incoherent to the point of, \"can we get this over with already?\" There were too many spots of, \"hey, where did Starscream go? again...\" and \"Barricade was on the way in to the final scene, but I guess he got lost or stuck in traffic...\" the Decepticons were made fools, not working together though they had numbers, and doing the usual cartoon they can\'t hit anything cause their superior alien targeting systems just cant seem to incinerate some super annoying disgrace to an actual marine \"marines.\" I wont say too many details, but there was a scene with a \"marine\" and a crotch rocket, and it was one of the most silly, retarded action scenes Ive seen since the corkscrew knock the bomb off the bottom of the car in Transporter 2....

I do agree with an above poster, Jar Jar Binks did make a suprise appearance, and it was just too bad a few of the horrible annoying characters couldnt have accidentally been shot by or ended up under Ironhide\'s foot...

Anyways, Id say wait and get it on DVD, the specials are great, so for eye candy its pretty decent... but dont expect much from Michael McPooperton Bay... 4/10

And for someone to say Pan\'s Labyrinth was better than this? Well, slightly, I thought that movie was pretty crappy as well~ Though I wont get into that right now...

I didn\'t grow up a Transformers Kid so I had no real expectations. I loved the movie start to finish. I got my $11.25 worth.

The weirdest part of the movie was about 1/2 way through when the guy sitting next to me leans over and says \" Are you telling me with all this, and we still can\'t catch Osama Bin Laden...My ass\" :wow:

I had no answer for him..
