Greetings, a few months since my last submission here, but I have been working on a big project.
This Death Company marine is a conversion of the Artemis model from GWs inquisitor range. I wanted to do a Black space marine with lots of interesting detailing - so the Death Company came into my mind. Also, having discussed this particular troop type with John Blanche a few years back I really wanted to have a go at doing complex Death Company model.
The model was painted in a classic pallette of black and red with the odd metallics and white for contrast. Stylistic I went for a mix of classic 'eavy metal style edge highlights in combination with various kinds of battle-damage plus subtle shading of the black using deep brown glazes.
I entered the marine into the Open Competition in GDUK2010, where he became a finalist but failed to place in the top 3. Congratz to the winners though - and especially to Martin Footitt who took Gold in the category. Well-deserved.
Anyway, here is the model. I hope you like him.
