Ideas for Tyranid bases?

I\'m thinking of starting a Tyranid army but because a lot of the models looks the same, I also want to give some special attention.

However, just a plain sand/grass base is not what I\'m looking for.

So, does anyone knows some original / not too hard ideas?

some kind of slime like the creep in Starcraft ?

Buildings falling appart, like they took over a planet and the cities are beeing reclamed by nature, would be easy to do concrete with grasse coming through on small bases and more elaborate buildings falling appart on large bases.

Jungle

Mountain

Or like Nurgley (is that the right adjective?) bases - with fungi, growths and odd spikes.

I\'m thinking of putting them on parts of Cities of Death parts ( any inspirational pictures / guides?) but I\'m open for more ideas though.

Thanks for your replies

I feel so mini illiterate these days  Two years away from mini news and I don\'t even know GW releases :p

Anyway, after a quick look at the GW web site, it looks mainly like 40k building which not be too hard to do with cardboard for the big ones, and plaster and plasticard for small bases

for concrete, mix a load of ddep gap filler (it\'s quite airy and light) with some normal filler and some pva to give it some flex. then pour it into something, smooth it so it is lever and then allow to dry. you can then smash it up and it it looks like really realistic concrete. add some wires sticking out and it looks like steel support rods

you can then add all kind of weird, brightly coloured foliage to represent the nids taking over the planet

also for brickwork, you can score lines in it very easily and it looks suprisingy realistic

unfortunatly not, but all you need is some greenstuff and a craft knife to mke the rubble. mould the gs onto your base and add any little themey type things like hemets weapons banner poles, leave to harden over night then carve, sand and/or flock as appropriate then paint, simple!:)

like i said feel free to pm me if you need more advice

failing that, Ive been getting hold of all kinds of cities of death bits, carving them up into useable size lumps, running all my excess sprues through a meat grinder, an old hand wound one, and mixing that up onto bases.
