I like the non-sequitur use of the Black Sabbath song in the trailer. Is Tony Stark going to be an alcoholic fascist in the movie too? Kind of look like - could be fun :)

Great use of insurgents. =)

Ironman was never my fav... I can\'t wait till the new Wolverine movie comes out.. It better be Rated R.

Downey Jr doing the Stark thing. Most definately fine and dandy.

Hostage Stark, build a low tech Iron Man instead of a missile nonsense. Much less fine and dandy.

Fully tooled up Iron Man. Looking back on track.

I\'m conflicted. It could work.

EDIT - Oh yeah, and the use of Black Sabbath was absolutely dreadful!

To be fair it\'s just a retooling of his comic-book origin in the Vietnam war. Same idea, made the armour in secret while a captive. Far-fetched, but so is the idea that a rich industrialist would be allowed to go on patrol with a bunch of dogfaces in IED-land.

Yeah, but that\'s the kind of origin story you\'re really going to struggle to sell these days in comics, let alone on the big screen. Sometimes you have to sacrifice elements to make the mood of the final product feel right I think, like they did with several areas of the LoTR films. Mind you, it may have just been the cutting of the preview that made it seem so wrong.

But yeah, everything about Tony is pretty far fetched so it may fit somehow.

it\'s only a mater of time before Cap America gets made then the marvel bucks will role in when they commision the trillogy of \"civil war\" films... and it would be at least a trillogy surely.

Marvel won\'t do it (Civil War). They are notorious at picking lousy directors and worse story lines (Ghost Rider? Hellloooooo). And they are also known for holding very tight to the purse strings when it comes to operating budget, and a civil war series would be a resource and funding hog.

Cap I can see coming to the big screen.
And having been in Iraq, the travelling VIP is a bit more common than you\'d think.

Thanks for the link Ebonbuddha. Not sure about that one. It just doesn\'t make me think...\"cooooool\", or anything for that matter. Maybe other trailers later on will leave a better impression.

Oooo I can\'t wait..Iron man was always one of my favorites.

I take comic book movies for what they are. Do I feel entertained for my $9.00 bucks..almost always yes..so I should enjoy it.

Though Marvel did take a major Dump with The Hulk so Im only hoping the next Hulk will be so much better..

Captain America is being produced and slated for 2009. The problem is that the scripts have been utter shite so far an the fear of making another version that was as horrid as the original cap America movie.

As to the iron man movie, looks ok but i\'ll make a judgement when i see it. Tony will NOT be a rageing drunk but they stated they are playing up the angle that he drinks so they can do the demons in a bottle story in a second movie. There is a guaranteed 3 different suits and possably 4 armors. Also seeing as how the actor playing Rhodes stated he took the part for War machine so might see him in the flick as well.

Can\'t say I know the story, so I\'m not bothered how accurate to the original it is :p

But I\'ve always like RDJ and his character seems pretty cool, so I\'ll probably try to catch this :)

I have like most of the recent spouting of Marvel Movies, and this looks good so far.

RDJ makes a great Tony Start...captures his smugness perfectly.

I agree. Robert Downey Junior is the perfect Tony Stark.

I only read four or five issues of the comic when I was a kid. Maybe ten tops. But I think it will be good. I hope so anyway.

I can\'t handle another comic turnined to a movie fiasco.:(

But they could see it as a massive opportunity to roll together the mega bucks from the 3 spidey films, 3 x-men films, Fantastic 4 and some Hulk cash... plus i\'m sure Iron Man and Wolverine will add a few bucks to the pot (i\'m chosing to ignore films like Ghost Rider and Punisher!!)

i don\'t think the money would be the issue.. it\'d be the ability to tell such a complicated back story..

but since when have marvel worried about that.. they\'d just hack it up make it fit neatly in 3 x 2.5hr films and make another half billion from it...

the only fun would be spotting Stan Lee in the ensuing mayhem!
