Look, I can understand to an extent why miniature painting is looked upon as \"low art\" or as more of a skill or craft than an art. The great majority of it involves painting a figure that is produced by someone else. I mean, if I painted Michelangelo\'s \"David\" I wouldn\'t consider it art, no matter how well I painted it. Michelangelo did the hard part - creating the figure.
if you painted david it would still be art - you would just be destroying another, completed artwork by a respected master. eg, if you painted over the mona lisa - your painting would still be art. any TRUE artist (not a lummox with a brush regurgitating what has already been done) would recognise a blank canvas - be it large or small, 2d, 3d, 4d or more, for what it is. subsects of the art community have been fighting this battle for years. is it graffiti, or a mural? is it noise, or
is it rock and roll!
if this guy wont respect the sculpting that you\'ve done, or our community of artists - than take it to a higher power - someone along the line will appreciate it (probably someone without formal artistic training ).
do a search on \"tiny sculpture\" and you will find many strange things indeed (e.g. Willard Wigan) many of which are considered legit \"hight society\" artforms. so its not the size....
many famous artworks depict war and military history.....
any many more depict fantasy...
people are prejudiced against mini art, specifically, for some reason.
