Hi Jas,

The blue looks really good nice highlight and shade there. The pale faces (His, on the staff his back and the familiar?) look a little flat in these photo. Maybe a little more shading and some very thin glazes of colour or maybe its just the pics. Any chance of some closer shots.

I agree with stewsayer about the staff and familiar's faces they do seem a little flat and the shades have hardl/y bee brought out at all there's a crease either side of the mouth that can hardly be seen for example.
the blues are amazing on both though.

and also seconded the osl on the wings is great too.
not too sure if the top five guys are finished but the reds need a bit more work esp the banner and blood drips.

hey guys
with this I'm trying to work on contrast something that I stuggle with so I'm trying to do really dark shadows and really light highlights at the moment I've only worked on the reds and blacks I'm not being very adventurous just doing GW colour scheme any thoughts or ideas would be appriciated :)
thanks jason

Hi Jas,

Looking like a good start.

A couple of things. The blacks seem to be reading more as grey (to my eyes anyway). could be the pics or just that you have some black undercoat still showing on the bits you haven't gotten to yet. I'd leave it until you have some progress on those areas and see how it looks. Otherwise some black glazed on across the mid tones and into the shadows will most likely sort it out.

The Red looks like a good start. I think you need to take the shadows deeper. VMC black red would be a good colour or add a little very dark green into your current darkest shadow mix. Also I think the current brightest colour is covering a little too much area. More of that rich red thats round the darker areas will make the whole thing more punchy I think. Finally the highlights could go up further but in a much smaller area esp on the chest, hand and shoulder pads. Are you using a lighter red, a white, orange or a bright flesh tone for highlights?

Good stuff all around mate. You've got a nice and diverse range of mini's going on there.

hey guys I have decided to resurrect my wip as I am doing side projects for myself now this is going to be for my son for xmas as he is fanatical about starwars and he saw sebs mini and was overjoyed so I am going give it a crack the idea I have is that he is lifting a piece of machinery with his force in a hall way of a ship that is blocking the way , at the moment I have just done a rough lay-out any ideas about composition and if the thing he is lifting is over the top or not and any other general ideas would be appreciated
thanks jason
