Cool, like the lighting effect....one thing you can do, is add superfine white sand to the shore bit, by adding some different textures the girl and her frog will actually stand out more.

Hey cool, \"try and try again\". That\'s my favourite thunderbolt mountain vignette. I\'ve got it on my hobby table too waiting for the moment that I\'ll have the time to work on it. I love the humor in it with the frying pan and all.

Painting is nice but I agree the base is a bit plain colour and texture wise. Still, this can work though if you choose to go for a \"fairy tale\" look isntead of realism. I\'ll go for realism probably. I\'ve not studied your vignette in depth as I don\'t want that to influence what I\'m going to do with mine. That will make comparing the two much more interesting I think. Could take a while though. :(

Do you have any more of the thunderbolt mountain vignettes? I\'ve got quite a number but very few painted ones. The other one with the pegasus pushing a kid pegasus over the edge of the nest is cute too, don\'t you think? Oh, I used the \"c\" word. Should I take cover now? :D

Quick tip, over here in the hobby stores you can find wooden \"wheels\" and picture frames. I found that some of them have a perfect size to be used as standards for these vignettes.

I really like the diarama. I think it could be better executed (Tammy\'s sand idea) but I voted it high due to originality.

Keep up the good work Becca and make each one better.

Hey Becca,

I found your work entertaining. I enjoy the colour use and lighting too. Some more depth of colour/highlights in the basing would pop things out a bit more. Keep up the good work.

Origineel geplaatst door ipaintminisi know the next one im doing out of the TM dioramas is the mermaid one with teh brother and the lobster:D
Oh yeah, that one is cool too. Er, how do you know that\'s her brother? I\'m curious to see how you are going to handle the mirror. I\'m wondering if it\'s possible to make a real mirror of it.
By the way, just in case you have never seen it: http://www.coolminiornot.com/index.php?id=261 Nice idea, isn\'t it?

it is true!!!

Your name \"I Paint Minis\" is true!! yay!!

(just kidding IPM );)

Very cool little diorama, and nice clean colors, but it seems like some of it just seems to have the basecoat of paint. I suggest more highlighting/shadowing. Even a thin darker wash around each item would provide a bit more contrast to some of the flat areas.

Blacklining would help (but this really is a matter of taste)
