Hey cool, \"try and try again\". That\'s my favourite thunderbolt mountain vignette. I\'ve got it on my hobby table too waiting for the moment that I\'ll have the time to work on it. I love the humor in it with the frying pan and all.
Painting is nice but I agree the base is a bit plain colour and texture wise. Still, this can work though if you choose to go for a \"fairy tale\" look isntead of realism. I\'ll go for realism probably. I\'ve not studied your vignette in depth as I don\'t want that to influence what I\'m going to do with mine. That will make comparing the two much more interesting I think. Could take a while though.
Do you have any more of the thunderbolt mountain vignettes? I\'ve got quite a number but very few painted ones. The other one with the pegasus pushing a kid pegasus over the edge of the nest is cute too, don\'t you think? Oh, I used the \"c\" word. Should I take cover now?
Quick tip, over here in the hobby stores you can find wooden \"wheels\" and picture frames. I found that some of them have a perfect size to be used as standards for these vignettes.
