I don\'t see race playing a card in this case, West had been drinking and chirped up with his opinion at a very innappropriate moment (Beyonce\'s video won \"VIDEO OF THE YEAR\" but lost \"BEST FEMALE VIDEO\", for the record...). A lot of people agree with what he said, the matter is how he said it.

He is a bit of a racist (one of the reasons I don\'t like him) but I don\'t know that it played any part here.

If saying Kanye West is a tad racist thats basically calling the majority of Hip Hop based artists racists, they have similar themes but its pretty understandable considering the oppression that the black community was subjected too it would be odd not to hear it vented through music.

I would say West is toned down in contrast to others and definitely not so radical.

As for the whole event, Kanye West seems to be the greatest architect for causing his own downfall and dislike. And it was very unfair on Taylor Swift even if people may have or have not agreed with what West said.

Kudos given to Beyonce for her contribution allowing Taylor to have her moment.

Maybe soon Kanye West will stop thinking himself above what he is and leave people to have their moments when they win an award
