Here's another attempt with black n white.. This is on a smaller scale with a Slag Troll.. I need to apply the final highlights and I was thinking about like an acid green for the blood coming out of the wounds... Thoughts?

What about inky black for the blood and glowy green eyes?

I also think Elric is looking great just keep going back and forth with those blends and smooth him out.

Did some more work on the slag troll.. Started the eyes and the metallic pieces. I'm not sure if I need more highlights.. What do you all think?

Time for an update.. First up is a Mage hunter assassin. My hobby store is raffling off a 25pt warmachine army for our Christmas party. They asked for volunteers to paint the figures, and I chose this one. The paint scheme was voted, primary was pink with a secondary color of brown. Let me know what you think..

The second guy is my Totem Hunter, he's still a work in progress. I'm planning on adding some dark brown spots on the light part of his head.. How does the armor look to you all? I would like to know.. Thanks!

I appreciate it Krule.. any opinions on the Totem?
the Totem is a strange looking mini, so i do not have any good advice. For pinky the highlight on the blade needs smoothed out more and then you will be good ( in partucular the back side of the blade)

This is solid advice and I second it. Blend in that transition a bit more. Make it hard for all of us to distinguish exactly where the blade goes from dark to light.

The pink figure is outstanding. Same with the blue though you could push the contrast on the armor. Have it go from a very dark blue to a baby blue (see my Khorne lord in my gallery).

But all of that said, your improvement recently is very very noteworthy. Keep it up!

If I could add a bit of constructive crit, I'd have to say it is related to your blending. The paint looks a bit sloppy in places. Try try try to make it as smooth as possible. Go back and forth 500 times if you have to. It really is a labor of love.
But discounting this little issue, both figures are excellent!

Appreciate the feedback.. I did some more work on the Hunter, focusing on the base now. Planning on doing an alien jungle theme with red, orange, yellow plants.. I figured that since those are warmer that it would make the hunter himself pop out more.. Or do you think I should stay with the standard dark green foliage?

Very nice over all, great colors! Only thing that bugs me is the post of the Halberd should of been a bit cleaner to live up the standard of the rest. :good:

Thanks Zab and Teronus.. Yeah, I need to feather out the wood a little bit better. I was working on the base and plinth last night, I figure a couple more days and this guy should be fully done.
