Another update.. Starting to get a little better with female skin tones. Still need more practice. Made this for my mom for Christmas this year, I could prolly dip it in house paint and she would still love it, but I managed to put a little more effort than that. Hopefully it survives the trip in the mail.. Comments welcomed as always.. Thanks.

yeah that is leaps and bounds better. smooth and subtle. I think its hard to get the right because we have to force contrast so much but with the ladies it's all about being subtle at any scale. Very nice work :)

That's a great point zabos!!! Great job khonner ,really stepping up...see what relentless practice does for us common hobbysits.

Next project. WAMP's Little Joseph. I'm using Scale75's Unnatural flesh for him. I think I need to change the leathers from red to maybe a green tinted leather to make it stand out. Not sure if I went too far with the highlights. Opinions? Thanks.

I think you pushed the highlights quite nicely. I have trouble pushing my highs more too. I usually have to force myself to take them one step further than i am comfortable with :)

I think you are driving this one to a good end ;)
Maybe you can do those "runestones" he wears hanging from his belt with a grey-green-blue tone to add interest to that zone, so you won't need to shift your leather work.....

Time for another update.. I managed to finish up my Goblin Tinkerer..



Still working on this one's armor.. started to add some green into the shadow areas..



And my base coat of the skin for my Dozer.

That Tinkerer looks great - a fun miniature nicely painted. :)

Yay Dozer! He and Smigg have been an awesome amount of fun to paint so far. I hope you'll enjoy them too. And I'll keep checking back to see how our paint-a-long is going. :D

Yeah haa K, love Em. I saw the tinker painted by a person when I did the ww2 dio is a super fun mini. Yours looks awesome. The Rancor like creature is looking cool too as Zab said great skin. I'm suffering all things star wars related at the mo great golden guardian too, look forward to seeing some brighter highlights and a bit more shadow.

Thanks all.. Here's my latest update on Dozer.. did more on the skin and started the leather pieces.. I'm planning on using some wax-based metallic paints that I picked up a few weeks ago for the metal plates.. Hopefully, it will happen this weekend..

Awesome! My Dozer and Smigg got put temporarily on hold for end of holiday, registering at university and getting sidetracked by sculpting experiments. But they're so much fun to paint and I'll be getting back to them soon. :)

Update on the elephant guy.. I started to add some reds and greens to his skin. I'm thinking that I need to add some more highlights to the head area. I'm pretty happy with the leather and the start of the stone hammer. Might add some greens to the copper, need to work on the gold chain. Opinions? I would like to know.. Thanks!

Well, I'm back at this again and I have a few up for voting. First is my Romero bust that I did for this month's WGC painter's challenge on Facebook. The theme was monochromatic. I chose Reaper's Monarch Purple.
