Thanks Alowan it gives encouragement to continue the model :) at the moment thou I am working mostly on Gokan model since there is a "competition" on that one.

Ositene if you are interested in a 10 hour drive, (that is seriously a long distance) there might be a place to sleep we are looking into alternatives for that and will come back later regarding what can be arranged.

Hmm a 7 hour drive here (Copenhagen). Could be interesting and educative in regards to painting :D

Kretcher if I may be so bold as to ask for this I would love the see an image of just the basecoat (first layers or first few layers) of your next color. It seems that you put it down very then and then work the shade and then the highlight but somehow it seems to look more like what I do than any video tutorial etc. I have seen - so I am a bit curious.

While it would certainly be a lot of fun, I doubt I could justify it to the family. Maybe if I had some other business in the area... Got to check if work has a reason to send me to the main office around that time. ;)

Well time to make a post again here, Haven´t painted for a long time and have decided to take a break from Gokan and do my first bust, it is Capt Sapo form Figone and I really like it, but it is hard to paint. Also whishing that I have an airbrush :)

Here are the result so far. the eye are almost done, there will be a lighter edge to pick up the center of the eye and also some reflection added and after that some varnish I believe.

Anything that you think I should change make better?

OK now no more changes to eyes, here is a pic of other side and gloss varnish has been applied :) so the faults that I find now and yes in my mind there are some. I will have to live with. But still happy with the result and now back to make the skin equally good, that will be a challenge since yellow is not my favorite colour.

Looks cool Kretcher! Where have you been hiding?

I think some white reflections on the eye might look really cool, or maybe just push that highlight a little more?

Thanks for all the nice comments and good suggestions. In regards to add a white dot, I am not sure since it has gloss varnish now and depending on how I hold the figure it gives a "natural" spot. Will think about it.

Made some more work on the Yellow skin tone, have mostly worked with brown shadows with some glazes of green/blue and violet to add more interest into the skin. Just top part of the face done so far. Small tweaks are left to be done.

So hard to make a good photo of the yellow, well this one is decent but a lot of nuances are not visible.

Boy, I think I have to put this guy on my shopping list. Looks really fun to paint. I didn't r realize you had gloss on eye. You certainly can do both a dot and gloss, but of course placing the dot is always tricky.
