[Larre\'s WIP] Gotrek, almost finnnished!! :D 26/06 - 07

you may wonder why I haven\'t updated anything in a while.. the thing is that I had to wait for some GS to arrive in my mail, and I have now spent about 20h on Gotreks base it just need some paint to be finnished

I plann to finnish it any day now...

anyway, please leave a comment on the latest update if you wish ^^

reds can always be tough to make look right. i feel the reds on grom\'s cloak is just not all the way there. the shading seems to be haphazard and in some of the wrong places. i dont know what it is about it. but if you can change it somehow then i think that could make it look much better. just an idea.

and btw i really like the conversion to gotrek. simple yet effective. gives me some ideas to do to my own 30th anniversary mini. rock on

Gotrek is looking great, a really nice feel throughout the mini, but I think the eye really brings the piece down. You should really spend some time trying to get it really neat and perfect, because it is a strong focal point which has a lot of influence over the piece\'s overall appearance.

think so? well, I\'ll give it a try bettering up those eyes I\'m now off to finnish the base ^^

I think I\'ve spent almost as much time on the base as on Gotrek himself

so here we go...

any ideas how to make the goblin better are apreciated.

there are still some small detail left to paint though..

Must say it\'s a very large base for a small model I suggest putting Gotrek in the center of the base, or as close to the center as possible.

that is impossible I\'m afraid... he is already glued and pinned to the base

Cool base! Very dynamic. Maybe a wash and then a final highlight for the goblin? He looks a bit too dark and undefined at the moment. Also maybe add a bit of mithril silver or similar to the bolt through his hand to make it stand out more. The ground has a bit too much of a contrast between grey and black at the moment too, like you\'ve just drybrushed grey straight onto the primer. A little more work on that will make it look a lot more realistic

Should look really sweet once the base is touched up. Shows how a good base can improve the overall impression. I should try and put more work in my bases Looking foward to seeing it done

yes, the base can indeed make a quite big difference... especially when you are a painter, and not so much of a gamer...

duriung next week I will probably have him finnished, and now I have a new brush, since I accidently broke my last one in half ^^,\'

Any progress on Bugman and whitey yet mate?

nope, I\'m afraid I haven\'t....

I have been buzy with Gotrek and my sculpt... but now I\'m home, I might finnish Gotrek tonight..then I might start working on Grombrindal and Bugman again...

I have also decided to expand my orc army with 10 black orcs, I think I will post some pics of my demonic orc army as it is expanding and all ^^
