Yeah, I know- the grass meaning is known, but the insult meaning is much more widely used. I wondered if fieldarchy was making something of a pun by insulting her grass...

Meg sounds like you need to invest in a push fertilizer spreader.. before you run off to Home depot though neck time check your local Craig\'s list or look to see if you have a local Free Cycle and and make a wanted post for a fertilizer spreader.
The other is find a good neighbor and ask if they have one you can borrow or see if they want to go half on one..its a handy device but one you will one use 4 times a year for an hour each time.
Well I\'m hoping I don\'t have to go out there again. I\'ve already noticed weeds are wilting this morning in the backyard so that\'s a good sign.

No however I did think of all of the double entendres with the statement I made because lawn and grass can be euphamisms for female anatomy and then sod is well like you said, an insult . . . who knows where that could have gone!
