As with a lot of the posts - particularly those started by Finn (well done that man) this is wandering a bit and now seems to be about where we can buy models etc (stuff) - I am very lucky as I live just north of London near the M25 so can get to a lot of retailers quite easily for example-

Leisure Games in North Finchley(http://www.leisuregames.com) who stock all(?) the English Confrontation figures as well as a good selection of other makes inc Warmachine
:flip:

Caliver books near Southend(http://www.caliverbooks.com/) who also hold Confrontation and stock Vallejo Paints:flip::flip::flip:

I can also get into London to shops such as the Orcs Nest in Leicester Square (http://www.orcsnest.com/) who stock - Youv\'e guessed it by now -:flip:

In addition I have a GW in the town and easy access to several others - which I cant go passed without going in and buying something (damn it).

My big problem is that my painting has more or less dried up recently and my accumulation of bare metal continues to grow with new lines of figures joining the ranks and ranks of unfinished/unstarted 40K and Warhammer

- the nearest I\'ve got to painting in the last 3-4 months is to undercoat a Warcraft box set ready for painting:(

I just (Saturday) bought a Griffon Inquisitor from Leisure Games- I\'ve looked at it, read the card, admired the art and I am detrmined to paint it - soon - of course that was what I intended with the last thing I bought:duh:

Oh well!!:D:D:D - keep smiling and hope the wife doesn\'t read this!:innocent:

there.

Didn\'t know I could do that. But there it is, Athens, Georgia.

By the way, Athens was rated as the best college music scene in America by Rolling Stone magazine. Speaking as a citizen of Athens let me tell you that this is a load of pink and green crap. Though, we do have a pretty good indie radio station here.

BTW, Finn17, if you want to shack up here for a night, feel free. Well, not free, you can baby sit my kids in exchange for room and board. The Mrs. and I will be out trying to enjoy the absent music scene.

No, I\'ll forgive a Floyd fan most things. Try editing your post. There is an edit button above it, and remove the brackets from the links. This might work so just try one first and re-edit the rest if successful.

That\'s very kind of you Barkel. Thanks very much. Unfortunately the notion of me doing a CMON-inspired world tour only originated in mouse\'s fevered brain and isn\'t likely to actually happen, nice though the idea is.
Keep on enjoying the music:bouncy:

Flamed - and no asbestos undies today!!!

Wow, here I thought we were having a friendly chat about our home towns and some doofus decides to slag mine (catachan comments on page 1 of this thread).

Guys and Gals, that\'s not what it is all about. If you feel the need to flame someone please do so in private. No matter how great you think your city is there will always be someone who thinks the exact opposite so let\'s keep it friendly.

Catachan, if you really think Ed. sucks, let me know in a private letter and I will be happy to hear all about how your mommy didn\'t love you or you were weaned too soon or whatever makes someone so bitter.

Anyway here are a few great things about my home town (p.s. I moved for school but missed it so much I came back);
a gorgeous river valley (you can bike through town without seeing a building),
Best hospitals in Canada (2003 survey),
Best University in Western Canada (Survey 2003),
Best Restaurant in Canada (Globe and mail 2001),
Largest Fringe Festival in Western Hemisphere,
Largest Multicultural festival in the world (heritage days),
Most Parkland in a city in North America,
the Provincial capital,
Best sports franchise in Canada - Oilers (ESPN Survey 2002),
Ah-what the hell - the world\'s largest mall complete with GW store,
Home to Universiad games, Commonwealth games, World Triathalon Championships, IAAF world championships, 2005 World Masters Games, Canada\'s football (soocer) teams, about 100 golf courses (more per capita than almost anywhere on earth),
Fort Edmonton Park,
the Folk Music Festival,
River City Shakespeare Festival,
and finally Canada\'s Largest Rodeo, the Canadian Finals\' Rodeo.

I could go on and on but part of what makes a city is what you make it. I would probaly love Antwerp, El Paso, Singapore, London (well actually I do love London so that is not a stretch), Vancouver or whatever city I was in.

Anyhoo, sorry folks. Since I don\'t agree with attacking another person to masturbate your own ego (as Catachan has done) I had to brag about home.

Born and Raised in San Diego!

I\'m from San Diego, California, and have lived here all my life (third generation on my dad\'s side, second generation on my mom\'s side).

I actually live in a little part of the South County called Bonita, but no one knows where that is anymore.

I live next to Edmonton (N London) which really is the pits (its also probably where all the numerous Edmontons around the world are named after - funny what people got home-sick for)

Perhaps Catachan might like to visit someday to look at a really good example of urban degeneration (OMG I bet there\'s going to be someone from there reading this:D)

I live in one of the Valley\'s in the UK that doesn\'t happen to be in Wales :p

Quite scenic and on the outskirts of Belper in Derbyshire, which is ... erm ... small. It does, however, or at least parts of it, have World Heritage Status!! Funny old world :D

I wouldn\'t mind moving to Cornwall though at some point... Great Place!!

Can\'t be arsed to read the original post on this forum coz I\'ve been drinking so I\'ll just assume it\'s about where you live.

Mmm... port....

I live in the wonderful UK, England in fact. Soon to be moving to Wales though. Strange foreign land that it is. For all it\'s problems with \'stealth\' taxes (if we don\'t call it a tax then it isn\'t a tax - bloody semantics!), illegal immigrants (if they\'re not sucking the system dry they\'re trying to kill each other in Nottingham!), and a health service and rail system that doesn\'t work (who else could spend millions on new trains only to find they don\'t fit our tracks!?), it\'s a great country. Long live the queen!

Rambling now... :rolleyes::|~
