Thanks, Dexter!

I noticed that 6mm is quite long, 4 is enough, even for 54mm, had to cut back with scissor.

Something else, worked some on Altores' Conquistador. This guy is incredibly huge, and assembled, looks like an octopus from the side, with very long arms. When I finish it, I will go back to minibusts, max.

Started with the body, fist I thought I will airbrush the metal, but did not like the look, was too shiny, too even, and unfixable, if I made some mistake.
So reverted back to VMC Black VMC Chocolate Brown VMA Orange underlining colors, and drybrushed VMA Steel above it, using VMA Pale Blue on top right highlight, VMC Black as middle shadow, and Schmincke Cadmium Orange in the bottom left highlight.
For gilding, used VMA Gold:

Thanks, Dexter!

It is not so difficult, you just need a lot of small horizontal highlight lines on the belt, then glazing it to the base color, repeat 3x. Then glazing back to the darkest parts, having some shade.

Some more progress from the backlog. I had some issues with the eyes, the usual "take a photo, compare the sizes" helped here, too, especially as the eyes have really different sizes and shapes:

Beautiful painting on this! It look absolutely painstaking! Definite Bohun vibes to this and its pixel like specular approach - excited to see your progress continue!

TBH I put away this project, too, as I wished to do a model for Golden Gobbo, the local competition (yes, still working on my backlog).

Was thinking, especially on a mini where I can add some freehand, choose Lazarus.

I bought some artistic paints, experimenting with them. As the mini will be green, choose magenta as shade color, and used opposite color yellow to work around with.

So
- the armor became ~2-3:1 mix of Schmincke Vanadium Deep Yellow:Schmincke Phtalo Green Blue Shade, shaded with 1:1 mix of Schmincke Quinacridone Magenta:VMC Black, highlighted with 3:1 Schmincke Titanium White:Schmincke Vanadium Deep Yellow. I am really not satisfied with the green, and found out, why, there is no good, saturated, opaque green pigment.
- the "white" cloth became ~6-8:1 mix of Schmincke Titanium White:Schmincke Quinacridone Magenta, highlighted with white, shaded with 1:2 mix of Schmincke Quinacridone Magenta:VMC Black. And tried painting with a zillion small lines, to imitate threads.
- the gold is 2-3:1 Schmincke Vanadium Deep Yellow:Schmincke Cadmium Orange, highlighted and shaded like the armor
- the copper is pure Schmincke Cadmium Orange, highlighted and shaded like the armor. I was surprised how good copper this became.
- and as contrasting spot color, for steel I used ~6-8:1 VMC Black:VMC Blue, highlighted with pure white.
- and finally for the red, as there are no Kimera shop in the near, bought some Liquitex Naphtol Crimson, cause it seemed to me that they have the same pigments, highlighted with 1:1 mix of Schmincke Titanium White:Schmincke Cadmium Orange, shaded as the armor.

Sometimes it is very good to put away a project and do something else inbetween. It gives renewed energy when you get back to it. Both of them looking really good.

looks better with magenta than with the blue (as it goes better with green).

At the same time I have to warn you that the mini might become like a clown with too many colors on it.
Right now it has: green (armor), red (chest icon), yellow (most of the goldNMM is more yellow than orange), orange (the vial), purple (blue purple), magenta (basically red purple), black, white.
You have almost everything on the color wheel on it except for blue.

Yes I know, but the traditional DA colors are green, white and red, skin and gold are by default orange(ish).
So I added magenta to balance the green. I hope that the mini from the front will not contain much red, from behind much orange and purple, so it will not be so overwhelming. And there are a lot of trinkets on him, they should be separated from each other. And of course there are the slain Rubric Marines on the ground, they should be a bit colorful, so I do not know. But this mini is a new style for me, never painted so saturated one, still experimenting.
And I really wish to try out the my new Naphtol Crimson :) But I promise, my next mini will be less colorful.

So some images of the backpack:
