LOTR miniatures suck & other stuff

oh well people are allowed to have their opinion. Good for you if you don\'t like them, don\'t buy them.
And as far as painting is concerned I think the movie is limiting people\'s imagination, wich might result in what could seem paintjob that aren\'t as good as some of the things we see on CMON. But actually latly I\'v been seeing quit a few mini differing a lot from the movie, so guess it\'s changing.
@darthfoley: Not to sound rude, but a deamon is in no way a garantee that everybody should like your work. You\'re alowed to be proud, just don\'t think that everybody will like your mini because of the deamon that goes with it.

Greenstuff: I am talking about random images by hitting the next button. Yeah, I could see all kinds of great paint jobs if I looked for them specifically, same with any group of miniatures. @Anaughtybear : If it suits you to loose your time by searching with random images, then more power to you. Just don\'t rant about the fact that you can\'t find any good LotR minis. This site hosts 52115 images (when I last checked) and I\'d be really surprised that even 5% of them are LotRs. Now calculate how many could be considered \"good\" . As for my last answer, it was in no ways supposed to be considered as agressif (except maybe for the \"phrasing\" part), but face it, if you don\'t take the time to search on your own stuff that happened months ago, you will exasperate people rather quickly here. It\'s just respect for others. And of course, you have freedom of speach, but you also have the responsability of your words.

Heh... I didn\'t realise what a waste of time it was to defend against an obviously flawed and highly emotional arguement.

It is illogical to not fully explore something before making an all-encompassing statement or judgement. It is similar to me saying that because I read one comment from a fellow from Shakopee MN that was ill-informed and illogical that ALL people from Shikopee MN are ill-informed and illogical.

On the bright side, I am slowly creeping ever-closer to the dreaded freakdom of which we all yearn....

Look, I believe everyone here is in favor of that. But like I said before, having your own opinion does not give you the right to be rude to other people. You can perfectly state your opinions in a polite manner, and people will reply and will even respect you for that.
\"I don\'t like the LOTR line because of this and that, what\'s your opinion on the subject?\" is probably the right way to go.

Back on subject, the guy was either trolling or just didn\'t have his coffee in the morning. There are some stunning LOTR figures on this site. Just look at James\' (Wapellious) stuff... and Angela\'s... and even Alexi Z\'s....

But perhaps Mr Bear is a bit like me and doesn\'t appreciate \'the sculpts\'.

It is a personal opinion, but I think a turd is still a turd, no matter how well it is painted.

Personally, I would melt them down for fishing weights, but that shouldn\'t be cause for others to be offended. You can all just laugh at my poor tastelol

Gotta disagree Finn (HAHAHAHA) We can assume that almost all minis cost too much so that rules out 1/3 of his arguement (in my very obsequious opinion), the detail is probably only low on the plastics but I don\'t know about that.... But he does mention that \"everyone paints them in super drab colors\" well you see... I think that is the key. Of course, I may simply be arguementative and I am not going to waste a ton of energy defending a line I am not super fond of, but they do have SOME very nice sculpts... and the paint, well we already KNOW there are some kick ass paintjobs...

When I saw the GW paint job of this in one of the UK WD\'s I was not really impressed in fact a lot of the comments here I can agree with in fact I own very few of the LOTR figures this time around and yes I do have some from last time GW did them back in the late 80\'s ish and to be haonest I wasn\'t a big fan of some of the mini\'s back then either

As you know, I am not the argumentative sort either

But I still think you are missing the point:

Bear hates them, I hate them, some people like some of them, some poeple love all of them.

We are all, each and every one of us, right!!!

Because it is a personal thing..just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so are ugly, hastily sculpted, shoddily cast, outrageous attempts to milk the success of the LOTR films........

True enough. I, myself, have commente don how crappy the actual castings are for the most part.

I was merely arguing that he had not done a search of the site proper and stated that basically all the paint jobs suck, but then that is only 1/3 of the beef

Did I mention that I love Alberta Beef? And you should too. Buy it. Tons of it. It is the best beef in the world you know
