Weeee! I love these forums because people keep replying long after I stopped caring. Then I have to come back and read them to see if somebody has anything to say about me.

Now don\'t you get a big head for yourself, Anaughtybear, I\'m not entirely sure that anyone here cared too much. ;) We just enjoy a good argument and any opportunity to add to our post counts.

We\'re like sparrows, you see. Some miserable git (you) throws a piece of bread amongst us and we fight amongst ourselves long after said miserable git has departed. Man, we\'re a sad and sorry bunch of bastards.

Newcastle...mmMMMmm...only a few places that I\'ve found with it on tap. Luckily, one is right near my friend\'s house in the University District.

And I\'ll take a steak too please. Gimme a porterhouse, medium. Nothing fancy on it. Just put some ground black pepper and a whole bunch of Hawaiian rock salt!

\'NewkieBrown\' is indeed a fine ale. A beer for champions...It is also one of the finest laxatives known to man:flip:

Equus: If you have been sold Newcastle Brown on draft..you have been conned my man. As far as I know it is only sold in pint bottles (Dogs) and, far more rarely, half-pint bottles (pups).

I think of it as KY jelly for the intestines...

Equus

lol Really? Hrmm...I know lots of places just stopped carrying it, in general. It\'s hard enough to just find it in bottles anymore. :( I THINK it was Newcastle that was on tap around here once upon a time, but who knows? :p I\'ll just have to go to the pub tonight and console myself with a Guiness, I suppose.

Nice thing about living out in the Northwest is that the microbrew craze hit here pretty hard. There\'s a lot of decent brew pubs and micro/almost macro- brew beers.

As for the rock salt, my parents will mail me some every now and then when we\'re running low. I tell you, there is nothing better on steaks or beef short ribs. Well, maybe there is, but I like my rock salt. :D

I completely disagree........ As a native of Newcastle I have seen what the Foul crap does, to peoples dental structures.
It is not an Ale but a Hodge Podge of chemicals overlayed with sugar and sold to people who\'s sense of taste has been eroded by disgusting imitations of real beers, which is fostered on the british public by the so called brewers.

Finn: As an appreciator of Theakston\'s Old Peculiar I\'m ashamed that you should consider \"Broon\" as palatable. (Or even fit to be drunk!)

as far as i know broon ale is only supply`d on tap in the brewery itself ...and the term \"dog\" comes from when the men of the northeast used to tell the wifes they were going to walk the \"dog\" and usually ended up in the gutter ....i`ve never seen broon ale sold in small bottles (must be for the ladies) nuff talking more suppin..cheerz n beerz.
