These are coming out great Maenas, great tonal range on the beast men dudes. And as others have said love the quirky little details on those minis.

Bet these really enhance the game...you can't beat a good game with a fully painted up mini stash.

Keep then coming!

Ditto everything above. The little details like the plaster (what the hell is a 'band-aid'?) and the bead of sweat are awesome
Elastoplast, Sticking plaster, primary first aid kit supply for any modeller.
LOL. I forget that using the BandAid brand name to refer to bandages is probably a USA thing./QUOTE]

LOL That's what happens when english is not your mother tongue. hahahahaha Thanks DR. for the synonyms on that thing. I did not knew that BandAid was a brand name.

Ty for the encouragement hairster! I am trying to finish them before the Arcadia Inferno Kickstarter reaches my home. I am running out of time ^^' and been thinking about dropping the finish level to have them painted faster, but then I wouldn't have fun painting them anymore xP

Hey! Passing by just to say that I finished the hammer beastmen and started with one of the heroines. I just need to find a moment to make pictures and share them with you all. Meanwhile, I finally got my parcel from Arcadia Quest Inferno kickstarter... and well... the correct adjective would be overwhelmed by the enormous quantity of miniatures and space that it represents. Even I felt quite guilty for taking that amount of plastic home. I think I spent more than 2 hours just opening up everything and having a fast look.

First impressions:
- They improved the quality of the plastics, and they are more rigid now. They seem to be more "sandable" and with less "rubber" than before I also spotted way less mold-lines than on the first Arcadia.
- There will be serious problems to paint some miniatures, since they have really unreachable parts.
- Arcadia pets, are hyper cute, my wife and I got some cuteness attacks from them!
- Ice dragon is the best sculpt IMO from the 4 dragon selection (ice, fire, chaos, poison)
- I am happy with the product, but not with the process (delayed more than 5 times and clients got the product almost a year later)

Pictures of everything to come later.

sounds good. :)
A bit like the the Relic Knight KS. Took about 4 days to check if everything is there.

I struggled a bit with the NMM cooper (bars of the hammers), I am still getting used to NMM but getting confidence miniature by miniature, I think the most difficult is the positioning of light and the ratio of highlight/middle/shadow tone. a part from the smoothness of the transitions. For this cooper I used a range of colours inspired by the ones used by @lonelemming on his dwarf and the one scale suggests for painting cooper but a bit darker (more like old cooper) I also do not own those colours so I tried to choose similar ones and tried to get a decent result.
Colours used were Petroleum grey, orange leather, golden skin, tenere yellow and white sands and chestnut ink. all from scale75 and glazed with some reikland fleshshade, seraphim sepia and lamenter's yellow from GW. Also a little dab of boreal tree green sc75 on the shadows. To sum up, a bit of a experiment hahaha

I think I should have worked a bit more on the skin, but I wanted to finish asap because my "mojo" was getting lower and did not want to left them unfinished. So I really think some parts could have a bit more love (the back of the hair, a little bit more overall refinement ...) But I call them done.

Very cool. A 8.5 to me. If you had a fancier base it would push it to 9.5 for me. The shaft is very nice looking btw.

Great work Maenas! The hammers are really nicely done. A nice experiment on the nmm copper. I agree it's difficult choosing where the highlights and shadows should go with nmm. But it looks like you're getting there.

Thank you all for the kind words! Great encouragement! ^^'

The angry goat is very well done. I like the color you used for the cloth parts, works very nicely with the skin tones.
hahahaha we also call them that way sometimes when playing hahaha
On the other hand, it's nice you mention the colour because I thought that turquoise green will fit a bit better than the black from the original art. (goats there are plain grey) Just because the grey on the skin has browns and reds so double checked with my guts instinct and colour wheel and felt it would look good.

@krulebear: I may try to do something on the bases of them all, when all become painted, so instead of the dark grey they could became a little bit more interesting... just need to find out what that thing could be... I have seen some people paints the multicoloured stones from the gameboards, but I do not quite like it. Some others cut the miniatures out of the base and glue them to transparent plastic bases, that I like, but feels super fragile, since some miniatures have too tiny feet.

This week I kept painting Arcadia, but I just have spent 4 hours at the maximum... Continued with Maya and the Orcs... quite a little horde since they are 6 plus 2 captains, that are exactly the same but wearing swords instead of axes. Pictures will follow soonish.. Maya is stalling me a bit because I fear that OSL thingy... I am trying to make it look nice and shiny...

I agree that the clear bases look cool in the posts I have seen of them, but I wouldn't trust the connection point to the base. Painted bases also don't look right to me unless it is more of an artsy piece.

How hard would it be to pop them off the base and use something like the Basius stamps to add textured cobblestones?

I like the stamp idea for the bases, but I have finally decided to not cut the figures off the base. I fear they could come a part, specially since some feet measure less than 3mm :S and I intend to play with the miniatures. xD xD So they probably stay with they grey bases for at least a long time. ^^'

And as I promised here come some advancements.... Ladies first:

Then the Orcs approach:
View attachment 55718

I think I commit myself too much to the orcs, I started to batch paint them then unconsciously took one of them and keep painting him LOL...
The main paints are on the picture, but in the end I added some violet on the shadows with red leather from sc75 and violet ink. The brown and red used on the pelts are also used in the skin shadows.
There are eight of these greenskins, and I will try to make each look a bit different as I did with the goblins, but possibly not to that extreme. I might try to paint an albino one, that could be different and fun for the game.
More advancements soonish.

Loving the blue on the female and the OSL effect. Very cool. Can't wait to see the end result.
I'm sure BAM would be more knowledgeable about the orcs, but to they are looking great. I love the idea of an albino one. That would be very cool. And maybe a black orc to offset the albino?

Oh that's a great idea! I will try it for sure ^^ in fact it will be one of the captains (those with swords) xD
I know black orcs are darker though I do not know how an albino orc may look like I will try and imagine hahaha

There's that albino orc in the recent Hobbit movies. You might find some inspiration there. GW even has a figure modeled after it so there could be other paint jobs out on the web to check out.
