ok, comments, criticisms and so on...oh, and i realise this mini will be lucky get over a 7 (you gotta do something majorly spectacular with marines to get a good score, i\'ve realised ;))

thanks all

Voted and commented again nice looking marine you just need to darkline it a bit and that should make it pop a bit more.
Also try a blue to white fade as your background when taking your pics.

I would have to agree with Tidoco about the blacklining and the backdrop. One other thing that comes to mind would be that the purple needs some more highlights. The rose is cool too.

Nice nice. I really like the helmet, the skull on it is perfect and the lenses are well done. I agree with more contrast though; mainly in the torso section. There\'s a lot going on right there and it just seems kinda flat-ish. I didn\'t expect to see a rose on there, but it looks good. Well done. :)

heh, theoretically there is some black-lining there...guess it just got lost somewhere along the way. i\'ll have to go back it put it back in

and the purple...i used bone to lighten it. however, this seems to have caused a few other problems (it really doesn\'t layer well), so when i glaze again to smooth it back out, it loses all the colour...so next time i\'ll have to add white for highlights

i\'ll get a back-drop done in the next few days and maybe re-submit this pic

contrast in the middle section...i thought about it. i was considering trying to make it contrast somewhat, however, i couldn\'t think of a decent combo of colours so i just left it...still stuck for what i\'d do to make it contrast

and finishing?? dunno...i\'ll take another look at it after i finish my next mini (hopefully not too long from now) and maybe go back over some stuff

anyways, thanks for everyone\'s comments :D. its very helpful

Well, I think you have chosen a good colour scheme, the mini is very well painted and the freehand also looks good. What you can do to bring it to that \"next level\" is to make the highlights lighter and the shadows darker. This will give the mini more contrast and make it \"pop\".

Keep up the good work though, you have come a long way already. :)

I think Astonia pretty much hit the nail on the head, particularly with the purple, it needs darker shadows and lighter highlights. very nice work however, you show very good brush control, you\'re definately ready for that \"next level\"

Look forward to seeing more!
