Absolutely stunning. Reminds me that I have a long way to go :)

Congrats on the trophy, and most of all congrats on one of the best miniatures I\'ve ever seen.

Welcome back to posting.

That\'s the best work I\'ve ever seen.

I\'ve got a tired arm from taking my hat off to you, putting it back on, taking it off, putting it on, etc........

I have never known the like.

this was one of the few models i got a chance to get a look at, realy sweet work mate.

only thing a can critisize is the base, the rubble needs to be dirty with dust scattered across the main piece he is standing on.
it would just add that little bit extra to an amazing paintjob on the model.

play with pigments mate, they give a better results for dirt, dust etc.

again, realy sweet job mate :cool:

Wow, thats a lot of response in 24 hours :eek:

Thankyou to everyone for the very kind words about it, all of your comments are greatly appreciated :)

@Talonicus - I wish it was a resin, it would have taken MUCH less cleaning up, yes it\'s a metal, i spent countless hours trying to get it as close to the green as i could (it dosent help when u have massive moldlines running straight over the fingers on both hands ;)

@Jahminis - i think there\'s always room for improvement on any mini, just depends how nuts you are in dedicating time to it.

@Jericho - Daz\'s work was a great inspiration for this, as you can probably tell by the style, it\'s always good going in to work and getting new inspiration every day off your mates :)

@mantra - cheers! we can paint half decent....honest ;)

@SJB - lol well i guess he is an old man, but yeah, i would have gone for a darker skin tone and hair if id have thought it could work, but with the rest of the mini being as high contrast as it was i went for a brighter approach, in my opinion it really would just get lost otherwise.

@Revererend - lol that gave me a laugh, and cheers it\'s appreciated :)

@Daz - he\'s ok i guess.

@Generulpolax - yeah i see what you are saying, maybe it\'s just a matter of personal preference :)

Once again cheers to everyone :]

Joe.

I said it on the day, I\'ll say it again. This should have won the Slayer Sword.
It really is a beautiful piece.

It couldn\'t win the Slayer Sword as the Open is an entirely separate contest. Also, Joe is staff so couldn\'t enter it in regular GD.

If he had been able to and had entered it in 40k single then I think there\'s a good chance it would have won the sword.

Really flawless. Nothing to criticize, exept... nope, can\'t find anything wrong. so, did you wet blend, or layer-blend?

Also, in case you don\'t see my response to your comment, \"I\'ll get working on the honor gaurd the day after hell freezes over\",

I think you have some work to do.

That\'s sickening. Full-on, stone-cold sickening. I\'m knocked flat by the work on this. In fact the only thing I\'d possibly criticise (and this is very much a personal opinion) is that the pink, craggy skin and white hair do make him look a bit like an OAP.

But the NMM, the chrome blue and the freehand are just (here\'s that word again) sickening.

All in a good way of course.

Word for word. /QFT

Joe - how long did you spend cleaning it up?
I spent about 3 hours cleaning my GD entry and it had mould lines on the face I just couldn\'t erase. As someone who the idea of spending days on filing provokes hives - I just wondered what sort of time I should be spending. And how did you get the lines off the fingers?
