Matt\'s 24 Hour Painting Thread

Ok Guys and Gals, I\'ve got a tournament a week on saturday. I\'m way behind on my painting and so I thought I\'d see if I can get 13 Sisters of Battle painted in a day. I\'ll post progress here each hour. I\'ll stick some pics up in the later stages if they\'re looking halfway decent. Wish me luck

eh should be no problem... i was gonna do 30 gaunts between 4pm and midnight.... got 6 done between 4 and 6... o well i wish u luck lol

Ok, got all of the armour base coated Boltgun metal (I\'m painting them in one big batch). I\'ve followed this up with a mix of Smokey ink and green ink, thinned with glaze medium and water. I\'m halfway through putting a less thinned down wash of just Smokey ink into the deepest recesses to provide a good contrast to the metal highlights.

@NSA: Bob the Boiler hasn\'t failed me yet :)

Finished off the Smokey Ink coat, then stippled on Chainmail, then stippled on Mithril Silver

@Naukhel - I\'ll get some pics up soon, my camera batteries are charging at the moment. Plus there\'s not much worth seeing quite yet lol

Suggestion: Maybe be some BeBop jazz (very fast jazz) may help you to pain faster.

Did a wash of green mixed with brown and blue onto some areas of the armour, then did a final very thin brown wash over the whole of the armour.
Looking at them now, I reckon the early washes were probably unnecessary as the armour is in too small sections for you to be able to spot them. Oh well, you live and learn. I\'ve also basecoated the bases Graveyard Earth (the bases have textured surfaces to look like cobbles)

@bayrodney - that\'s true, but this keeps me sane and hopefully more motivated. Although I\'m sure my grammar and spelling will degrade as time goes on. Is that how you spell grammar??.......it starts

Hope the motivation stays, i kno it quicky goes away with painting sisters.

I\'m into the coats that are going to take a while now - I\'m basecoating the robes and topknots with scorched brown mixed with red gore (I\'ve done some small conversions on these sisters, they are all helmeted heads and have topknots from the chaos sprue, they also have sculpted \'jaw\' bits added to the bottom part of the helmets)

Best of luck! You know, maybe I need something like this to come up to motivate me to paint.

I still remember the time I got 40 skeletons (yes, two boxes of GW plastics) assembled and painted in two days to get ready for a con. My hands really, really hurt after that for quite some time. ;)

Can\'t wait to see pictures!

Got the red basecoat done, now I\'m highlighting with pure red gore. Thanks for all the support guys, it definately helps
