fixed the first 2, but I won't touch the hair. IRL the difference is big enough.

I thought it might be the pictures of the hair that weren't doing it justice. You are, after all, one of the voices in my head telling me to "push the contrast" while I'm painting. :)

She looks like she was a fun project to work on.

so I'm kinda an anti-talent when it comes to photographing minis, but lesser known but I'm the same when it comes to building/sculpting/converting, so in general modelling.
Still I wanted to make a tree and this is how it came out (+ mini for the diorama :) and of course not too good photo partly because of here being too dark and using a flash )

part 1 of the KD-KS arrived today. It's as massive as the W2 box. What arrived: 11 resin pinups + 9 plastic promos. All that remains are the W3 items (expansions).

btw: no feedback about the tree is needed anymore. I didn't like it, so I teared it from the base. To be redone in a different way/ with a different tree.

Dang I liked the tree. I was going to ask you how you did the leaves.

The girl looks ace and so does your anime contest entry.

saw this on MV: http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.de/2015/11/mv-most-creative-award-mss-2015-luis.html

I'm amazed and inspired by such great work (again) and at the same time I feel a bit down when I look at my dioramas/works (again).

too late, already replaced it with another one.

how it was done: I tried to follow the tutorial from another hungarian modeller, Laszlo Adoba. He has released a few books on how to make good looking dioramas cheaply.
the book I used: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Lets-Build-Diorama-Terrain-Vegetation/dp/B005IFTP9E

The leaves are some scatter material from "Faller": http://www.faller.de/App/WebObjects....91/agid.1113/ecm.ag/Fields-meadow-paths.html
A mix of spring and forest green + Airbrushed to make highlights and some shadows.

Originally I wanted an autnm thing, but only found the green ones. Yesterday I did a bit of a cleanup and actually found the brown one too (sandbrown), so I could have that too.

What I really didn't like was how the filling material and the leaves eat paint. Almost a whole bottle of matt varnish and a bottle of green paint are spent on the tree.

I like it a lot more. Some small tweak are needed for the tree, to break up the uniform color and texture.

And the Daisy Reed (scale75) one:

Well I must admit that the green tree was in fact too much of a green, but while it was not that bad, this one is a hell of a lot better.
As you also said, I would add some other colour to improve it further, maybe pale yellow and some reddish spots. Size is the only thing, i am finding it a bit large, but maybe it's because of the angle of the picture.

Daisy Reed looks very good to me, cannot comment further on it xP...

Goggle translate did a good job on Spanish, on French it has misplaced the article "les", that one goes in front of the rest "les commentaires sont bienvenus", on the japanese... better ask to a japanese xD

because I felt there is a lack of criticism and without them I'm stuck at my current level of painting I have't updated the wip since middle of november.
What happened since:
- painting wise about nothing
- moved the vile-tis army to 2016
- attended the yearly Games-day hungary painting competition, got 3 golds, a silver and another golden weapon there :)
- bought a sh*tload of minis (e2046, KD, ebay mostly), that I'll never manage to paint.
aaand about that's all. Haven't painted a thing in december. Quite simpy I didn't have motivation to paint at all.

Plans for 2016:
- finish the Vile-Tis army
- make the Dropzone Commander diorama (UCM Wolverines vs Shaltari Walker)
- diorama with Ma.K. figures. They are old as hell, but apparently I like the style.
- finish a few anime kits (Sister of the last kit, some space ships (lord british), VF2SS, YF-29)
- some Rackham units/conversions (3 Thallion riders + a mounted magistrate)
- I really really should paint the 54mm Eisenhorn with a lot of freehand (that I don't know how to do)
- some Busts from nuts planet (mother of dragons, caesar)
- Luna's soldier from nocturna painted as a Jedi
- resist WM's contests :) (they are fun, but take the focus away from other things I should be finishing)
- relax without painting or painting some easy, fun, ttq pieces.

Hi Maxx - I've had a go at a couple of trees (hate them - tricky bloody things that they are) and I always got stuck at the foliage. I'm not sure how to get a decent natural look. I think your latest tree looks excellent: only thing I might suggest is to make the leaves less uniform: different parts of trees are exposed to different strengths of sunlight at different times: and in Autumn (particularly earlier in Autumn when a tree would have this much foliage still left on it) you would see more patches of green, yellow, shaded down to brown.

I I know this is a super late comment and you might have moved on, but hopefully it's still helpful.

Well done on your results at the painting competition! *applause*

I was wondering where you had disappeared to - glad that all is alright with you (barring the lack of motivation for painting).

Speaking for myself - I only tend to comment if I have something valid to add to a discussion. I don't know much about modeling dioramas and intricate bases, but I have always liked seeing your experiments.

Congratulations on the awards. Do you have any minis you actually are excited to paint? It sounds as if you're intent upon trudging joylessly through a bunch of 'required' stuff, when what you apparently need to do is recapture some excitement. Good luck!

hehe, wanted to put the ship in the vitrin, turns out I have no space to store it...
So right now:
- In hungary 2 ikea detolf cabinets and a few extra shelves(12) in other cabinets are full with painted minis
- In germany 1 ikea detolf cabinet is full... and 5 1/6 anime figures + now the ship are on the desk because of no space...

Hi all,

next project would be this figure: http://www.e2046.com/product/1409/

And here I'd need your help as the clothing is pretty modular. Basically you can put it together with:
- shirt: long (modest build) or short (belly shows a bit, more sexy)
- trousers: none / short (shows skin from knee and down) / left leg long (kinda FF-X feel to it) / right leg long (again FF-X feel, just other leg) / long trainer style (pretty modest build)

So I'd need your opinions on how it should be assembled. The only sure point is that I want to use the trouser parts, so the "no trouser" won't be happening.

2 extra pics:
- showing shorts / full: http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/310929640733-0-1/s-l600.jpg
- alternate colors: http://i1070.photobucket.com/albums/u491/ramzesiii/BigShelf 2014/WakanaTohno_zpsbc95ee72.jpg
