sadly I had very little time. So far colors are (very) roughly blocked in.
green looks a bit too strong, but I think it will be ok after shading / highlighting.

Good luck with the bust, it's a neat one! You could try mixing in some grey with your green highlights to desaturate them. A dark blue or purple would also make some nice shadows for the green. I'll be keeping an eye on this project.
ArchArad, my general rule of thumb is glue together as much as you can before painting but, if something is going to be hard to paint around or just really fragile, I'll leave it off until later. Before I leave a part off I'll dry fit it first to make sure there are no issues. If there are gaps that need to be filled, seriously consider whether you really need to paint it separately because that is definitely a pain! Another tip, I've found that sometimes the superglue fumes will leave a white film on the figure, screwing up sections I've already painted. You can avoid this by not using too much glue and placing the mini in front of a fan while the glue drys.

not anymore. Nowdays I use Milliput for it which is suprisingly easy to use to fill the gaps between parts and then fix up with paint. But here it won't be an issue at all.
All the connection points are hidden by overlapping parts. So when I dryfitted it There weren't any --> most likely this piece won't need any touchup after painting and assembling.
Bailey: well I was thinking about shading with good old darkseablue and highlighting it with simply white to make the highlightd pastely (I already tried it on a HE lion-chariot and liked the result with the white + jadegreen (base color)). I just have to push it further to white here.

Or I will go nuts and play with colors. For the skin I want to try using colors that are not usual like light blue for highlights anyway. Worst case scenario I mess up and have to repaint.

today I had some time to paint, so some minor progress:
- wood of the shield, altough next time it'll get a layer of chipping medium, then some painting
- skin mostly done, not sure if I want to push the contrast more as it's a female figure. no freckles yet as I fear ruining what's done AND it's 11pm and tomorrow have to get up early for work.

edit: nope, even if the colors are gone because of the flash the skin shows not enough contrast, so I will have to rework it some more. I think I won't loose the pale skin if I keep the shadows small.

under the head, on the temples, under the eyebrows (that are not even painted there yet), under the collarbones, under the mouth, also maybe a bit on the face near the back of the jawbone.
thank god for the 'secret weapon' I learned while painting anime figures... pastels. Nice, fast, easy 'blends'. (even now the flush on the face/ eyeshadows, pink on the nose is done with them)
Also have to lighten the mouth as it's too stongly colored atm.

The contrast and blending on the skin looks good. I'm not sold on the freckles though. The color looks good but the placement seems a bit too random. I know there are people who have them everywhere, but normally I feel they're grouped along the bridge of the nose and then extending out horizontally to the tops of both cheeks. At least that's where I feel you should have the densest placement of them and then you could have a few stragglers here and there.
Oh, and don't forget to add the eyebrows! I feel like my figures faces always look a bit off until I put in the eye brows.

yes the freckles in mini painting are normally how you describe them, and I painted them like that for the "autnm nostalgia" figure. (like this: http://7-themes.com/6898040-girls-with-freckles.html)
BUt after some google search that's more rare. And if someone has them with a lighter skin, then it's mostly everywhere, like this: http://7-themes.com/6994285-woman-blue-eyes-freckles.html or http://7-themes.com/7007234-girl-freckles-face-close-up.html
(really tried to get pics of both type and for every "across bridge of nose" I found at least 3 like these)
so while I might tweak the number and position a bit, but the "they are everywhere" stays, even if most people don't like that. That said even now they are concentrated in the expected area. I tried to limit the number and size as I went further and further away.
