How about something like that? Although it might blend with the background a bit if there's alot of bronze. Refresh my memory, what's the watch master mini? The deathwatch guy? I don't know if it fits the fluff much, but I know they are drawn from other chapters of marines (although I'm not sure if the commanders are) but you could pick a chapter and use that to freehand something more interesting than the eagle

What chapter is your watchmaster from? Something elaborate on his cloak from his chapter would be fun. Or a giant fancy =][= with lots of words and skulls and crap!

Wow Maxx, you've been busy. I like the cats, I need to get busy with my own. I went with one of Secret Weapon's flight deck bases.

The last photos of bunny girl look great. Did you overcome the splotchiness issues? Maybe some Dullcoat or Vallejo satin varnish to knock the shine off?

When I was a kid I had an Alien puzzle where the alien was a bit more green, like this one:

and I've always felt the color suited them.

And the wip of the Alien after the painting on sunday.
I'll most likely work on the head a bit more, by making the black much stonger on the back and above the mouth.
I have no idea what to do with the claws / teeth... go the traditional metallic??? So far it has a light base and done.
At the end I'll probably add some slime to the mouth / base / ... no idea where else.

Again: anything that I should fix , or extra features I could add?

I'm literally sat here watching Aliens (they aren't quite coming out of the walls yet), and am really impressed with what you've done so far. The metallic teeth are quite iconic, so personally I'd keep them. Maybe as well as the mouth, put some slime on the low point of the tail?

As for the Watch Master, maybe the inquisitorial =][= with an ornate sword behind, perhaps a bit of filligree patterning. I'm sure I've seen this type of emblem associated with deathwatch before.

With the Bunny with bat (Redemption?) I think it is all top class except for the reddish patchiness near her crotch in the first pic. Although I have the feeling that this may be a lighting/photography issue.

little return to the planes :)

First is the almost ready Delta squadron. Only #2 is missing, that'll be released later this month. I really like how easily they go together and compared to the work how good they look. The WIP Watch-master for Deathwatch is for scale purposes only
Also on the pic is the spaceship they use as a base. Again really small, full packed with detail.

Aand everything I have from the collection. Including 1 VF31 and 1 VF171 that I tried to paint instead of using the stickers they come with.
Also 3 extra VF171-s, so the cannon fodder of the show can be formed to a squadron too.
And finally one of the enemies (with the rest being release from nov to jan (feb)). I'm really thinking about buying a second one and instead of the gold stickers I paint it (but the rest of the markings I'll do without extra paint)

And finally a VF2SS-SAP from the show Macross2. I got this kit from the 90-s, but was forgotten. I found it (in very bad shape) when I was home. Thought I'll do a fix and repaint the whole thing.
As can be seen: bandai + 90-s = not a lot of details and even they are pretty crude. Totally the opposite of the Hasegawa models.

bit of a quick try at 10mm scale :) painted it today evening in about 4 hours.

One big lesson: never ever try to paint an assembled Dropzone Commander Shaltari figure after it is glued together. Reaching the tiny details after assembly is a pain.

Nice job on the PHR fleet, and shaltari walker Max. Is that all of the contents of the starter fleet? I can't wait to receive what I got on the kickstarter for DFC.

wanted to put her in the gallery, but I can't seem to find a plinth for it.
I found many for busts, but I think a non-square one would fit it better.

Yep, that's what you get in 1 starter box. 3 cruisers, 4 frigates.
This weekend: shaltari... I still don't know if I go with the red-gold color scheme, or something different.

Also waiting for the UCM from the KS. They were supposed to be my main fleet, but I don't think I'll get the KS ships before december. These were bought at the Spiel Essen show.

ohh halloween update on the KD store... thrown out a lot of $ again.
But I forgot to get the armor-kit. Partly because I'd only need the unarmored sprue. If anyone here ordered and doesn't need it please consider selling it to me.
It's the sprue with the stones as weapons, lotsa heads, bodies in clothes that a bit remind me of togas.

first is the Shaltari fleet for Dropfleet Commander. The scheme chosen is less than good. The metallics are not visible with the dark-light greens (not on the photos and not in real life)

Altough I never expected that they will score high, but some are much lower than expected. Instead of ignoring it this time:
- What are the weak points on them? (really interested in the anime figure and the watchmaster, the rest I can understand)
- What should I improve next time?
- Where did I got worse compared to previous minis (what did I forget)?

Please I need critique, no matter how brutal it is, not positive support. I can't learn / improve from that.


Also I was pretty inactive lately and it will only get worse. First I wasn't planning on painting anything in december. Second... new PS4 + Final Fantasy X, X-2, XV --> good bye free time :)
It looks like XV alone could take a few months to play through.

Done, I hope it helps you out!
On this Shaltari fleet, you may want to try bronze/cooper instead of silver/steel. I Had the same problem on my epic eldar army (similar colours) and opted for those metals instead.
