Has anyone else seen the new McFarlane Toys dragons? Omigawd they are awe-inspiringly cool!! I picked up the Fire Clan dragon last night.

Plus, the bases they come with would make terrific terrain pieces.

They\'re not toys - they\'re art!!

That\'s a relief!

I liked the last line he did as well, but by the title of the forum I expected that he did something stupid along the lines of buying Big Mac\'s home run ball for several million dollars. All I could think of is maybe he spent an insane amount of money on an autographed syringe from Jose.

I think these dragons were discussed in another thread last year! :]

They\'re gorgeous, though, and deserves a second thread!

@Ritual - these are new. They were just released last month. There\'s supposed to be a second wave in October.

:)

Yes, but the pics on the website were available already last year, sometime during autumn.
(Still no pics of the second wave, though :( )

Did they actually come out? With the financial diffculties he\'s been having I thought they might be on hold.

Any idea how much these retail for?

I see a ton on eBay for $10ish US, but just about everyone wants almost another $10 in shipping... and those that don\'t charge insane shipping won\'t ship to POBoxes. <shakes fist>

It says 6 inches, so I guess they\'d be a bit big for 28mm scale.. but they are furbin\' DRAGONS!! McFarlane never fails to amaze, I still haven\'t opened my 2\" Lucidique from Tortured Souls.. and I never will, but I always have days where I look on there and see what I want to buy, but have no money for/can\'t get in a store around here... Much like the Rackham website! :p

PS: The Tortured Souls movie opens Halloween of this year! :D (Grins devilishly)

hold it a sec...

I saw where it said \"scale 6 inches\" on the website, but I didn\'t know what that meant.

If the dragons are 6\" then they\'d be rather small for 28mm figures.

I assume they are built on the scale that if a human figure=6 inches, and then scaled up accordingly.

The Forgeworld dragons are relatively large, so I was just curious how close they are to that.

I was led to believe they are based on the human size to be a 6\" figure.

I remember the older thread, they are very nice.

The dragons themselves are about 6\" tall. So they\'re slightly smaller in size to something like the WotC black dragon or one of Reaper\'s boxed dragons. The Elemental one comes with a rider, which is probably about 35mm tall, best guess.

I have the Fire Clan dragon in my possession. I paid $13 US for him. Picked him up at Hot Topic. They have a website, but every time I try to post a link here I fail at it.

Here is an awesome reference site if nothing else if you like figures including all things Mcfarlane- even has pre-releases. Might be a tad expensive in places, but overall cool.

This place even has those versions of the cartoon network star wars guys- the coolest.

Shown with mini for scale

This is a pic I just took with a Reaper 25mm mini for scale.
mcfarlanedragon.jpg

He\'s pretty big, and the rider on him is about 30-35mm scale, not to shabby for game use.:D

P.S. Don\'t rate the mini, she is a Reaper Laurana fig painted by my 13yr old.

The only one of these I\'ve picked up so far is the water clan. I don\'t really care for the fire or sorcerer\'s clan ones. I do like the berserker, so he\'s probably next on the list.
