Well it turned out great, and has definately got that rotted feel to it.
If you don’t mind me adding, just a little something to think about is instead of mixing your wash colours together you could have laid them down individually over the top of each other to accomplish the same colour. By doing it this way you could adjust the tones in different places, eg a bit more blue in the deeper shades, a little less in lighter recesses etc.
If you were to apply it like this you would want to thin down the washes (lahmian medium and/or water) quite a bit and apply in many layers, a bit of blue here, red here etc and can even experiment with other colours to provide some really effective tonal contrast too... just concentrating on individual recesses etc and not wash the entire area. Using thinned washes will help with a smooth blend into the shadows too..
dont get me wrong what what your doing is great, and if your comfortable with that then keep on doing it, just thought I would add this as it’s a little technique you may like to try at some point
anyways keep up the good work man... oh and I didn’t notice the chains in my first look, but now I do... they look brilliant :good:
