Ditti,ditto.

Skin is ace and the leathers are gorgeous. Maybe attach the sword and it will give you an idea for further tweaks...what am i saying- if i had half the paitience you guys have put in this paint off my painting would jump a few levels. Keep up the effort, i am enjoying this.

Cheers all, it's going to be a few days before my next update - good wood festival of speed and then a business trip to Toulouse calls next week. I've started on his sword and it feels good to do something different.

I'm still going having had little time recently. So today I've been playing a little more with metallics and have started on the base - imagine it blue grey coloured.

Cheers Andy - All done with a couple of metallics (gun and silver) + his skin base coat colour and the blue from his jewels, oh and a little black.

Amazing metallics (as well as skin tones).

Care to explain how you did the shading and tear on the sword?

Cheers, for the base coat I used VA gun metallic and applied it nice and smooth. Then using the base coat of the skin tone base (I used the Andrea skin set for the skin) I juiced in the few dozen first layers. Then using the blue from the jewels ( regal blue from gw) juiced in that over a few more dozen layers but on a smaller and smaller size. Then the same with black over a very small area. Then I reapplied a juice of VA steel at the opposite end to the black. I then gave the whole blade a juice of hawk turquoise. I then juiced the whole blade with a couple of layers of gun metal just to give it a little sparkle. Lastly a careful edge highlight of sliver. Phew, sounds tricky but not so much really. The scratches were just black a silver very finely applied.

The important thing with this is that by using the colours from the fella himself (which are opposites) the whole thing ties together. Red and green, blue and orange, tan and purple all work together nicely on metallics.

Hope this gives you an idea or two :)

Thank you very much - that might be my next project. I really want to try it out :D

Excellent. Normally i would say the sword is too shiny, but it really works with the rest of the model.

Are you puting him within the burl as suggested in the last pic? If so that is looking very very cool.

Thanks :)

I will be putting him there but the wood is going to be a rock face grey / blue in colour. Still lots and lots to do on it. I might even be a little too small for him - I'll see what it looks like nearer the time.

I can't wait to see the final piece! I really need to stop slacking and paint mine but Golden Demon requires full attention!

really nice dude. love it.

I personally think that from the photos it looks like the blue bling could be stepped back a bit and I love the little lines texture you've put in the top turn downs of his boots...

great :)
