I've just started working on a Statuesque mini, given the things I've recently been doing I'm struggling to get to grip with this scale again. I'm not sure if I'm happy or not - she may be dipped later today!

LOL they are small! I couldn't believe it when I got mine through the post!
Looks like a good start mate, picts a bit small to see the details.

She is properly small - have you started yours yet? I didn't like her eyes - it was much worse in the hand than the pictures suggested as I'd applied too much paint and took away the fine details. Since then I've stripped her head and repainted - I'm much happier even if the pictures don't seem much different.

Go for the old sheer effect on the stockings.

Thanks - she is getting a little scenic base, what yet - I haven't decided!

I've made a start on her dress but it's still in the sketching stage.

I love that deep red. You are going to have to drench that dress in freehand flowers or something. A cherry blossom motif would be outstanding. Great work sir.

Looks good so far, how the dress turns out will be interesting. What style you choose and so on. Would you mind sharing how you done that red? Really like the depth to it

I hope this lady is getting very near completion now. The pictures have shown me a few areas that need a little more smoothing otherwise I'm happy The red is just scab red with dark drown and black for the shadows and bleached bone + a little orange for the highlights. All of that is then glazed with a very thin bright red colour.



The camera must have the slightly ugly filter on it at the moment as it's not quite so harsh in real life (either than or I'm still try to get used to that free version of Photoshop).
