Mega's menagerie of miniature madness

Hahaha - Andy you've caught me there I didn't plan on that happening, honest! Somehow you've played a Jedi mind trick on me!

It happens. That NMM stuff is insidious. After I tried it I accidentally did a cold steel NMM on a Fianna's impossible bra.

This weekend I spent painting with good friends in the Rafa / John Weekend workshop. Rather than doing more of the red I decided to do something different. The workshop was fantastic once again - lots of help, knowledge and understanding gained. Thanks John for organising and Rafa for being super helpful!

Looks like you still managed to get some red in there. Very jealous if you to. I need some workshops over in Florida.

He looks like he is wearing a red bra. Lol. Nothing to do with you or your painting mega, you are spot on and who am I to tell a painting god otherwise, but now that you painted him and the details of the sculpt pop out.....

Dude! It's called a Manzier - or possibly a Bro. Don't listen to Digga he's drunk on power after winning a giant dragon from WGS (this is the only place where a sentence like that doesn't sound crazy). Nice painting good sir, nice painting.

Today I managed to get some more painting done and I'm finally starting to understand the red a little more. Its still not easy for me but at least it's faster than before.

Fantastic looking and yes red is difficult but I have too say I like yours very much. When looking at it it seems you are using a combination of violet/purple and some black for the shading and you are using White? for highlighting?

The face is really nice nothing else to say.

No purple, violet or black just yet - only dark green for the shading! For the highlight I've been using a flesh tone glazed over with some of the red mid tone colour. Then spiced up with the Scale 75 red ink. Oh and a final tiny spot of very light pink.

Nice result, thanks for sharing what you are using for your red.

Yep looking mighty fine! I think some pale blue glowing lights would go very well as a spot colour on this one.
